Ran into this small sandwich shop while looking for a lunch spot in the Leather District. Got the Big Steak sub with a side of a brownie that they had for a dollar special. With thousand island dressing, the sub tasted vaguely similar to McD’s cheeseburger but I enjoyed it overall. They also have a rotating daily specials and I’m interested in trying their pochetta sandwich View all feedback.
What Joe M doesn't like about Figaros:
I’ve had 2 sandwiches so far, chicken pesto and Italian. The chicken pesto didn’t have as much flavor as anticipated but still pretty good. The flavor of the Italian was great. However the crust on the sub roll was rock hard and extremely difficult to bite through it. I’ll certainly be back but will go with focaccia or a wrap next time. View all feedback.
Italian sub was one of the best I’ve ever had. Perfect amount of hots, onions, lettuce and seasoning. Cold cuts were top of the line. Also knew it was gonna be a good spot when I walked in and they were playing Juicy by Biggie Smalls. And when I asked if they put balsamic on it the kid gave me a funny look and said that’s not supposed to be on an Italian. I’ve had plenty of newer sub shops that for some strange reason think putting balsamic on an Italian sub is ok. It’s not and this needs to change. Anyways, their Italian sub is an amazing sub and I wish they were opened on the weekends. It would be worth the 15 minute drive into Boston but I’ll enjoy this spot as my go to Italian sub spot when I’m in work and craving a sub
Fantastic food from the greatest people! Their salads and sandwiches are always top notch fresh delicious. They've also been doing dinners to go (or delivered for larger orders) during the pandemic so on this visit I was picking up several days' worth of beautifully prepared dinner entrees that I had ordered in advance. Everything was packaged perfectly and the food was outstanding. Highly recommend every single thing I have ever gotten here. 14/10
Figaros is a great Boston find. It’s a great lunch spot known for its lunch sandwiches and Italian family-friendly service. While most people prefer the nice selection of hot and cold sandwiches, I prefer their chili, which has just the right amount of runny-nose causing hotness. If you are lucky enough to be in the area for breakfast (and they aren’t closed preparing for a catering job at that time), you can feast on the ultimate, an egg, meat, cheese, and hash brown breakfast sandwich on your choice of breakfast breads. Seriously, it will rock your breakfast world—and your waistline. I highly recommend it. The only downer? It closes after lunch. Understandable, but sad times for those having a later lunch.
In the realm of sandwich shops, Figaro's is on the higher end. The sandwiches are simple, but put together with high quality ingredients. For example, instead of some generic sandwich roll, you'll get a hearty ciabatta. Instead of a regular mayonnaise, you might get a pesto mayonnaise. My favorite is the Cha Cha... Imagine a big steak and cheese with some sharpness from red onion and a light tang from some honey mustard. Be sure to get a blondie they're soft, chewy, sweet, and big enough to split between two people. You can tell the staff loves to cook and loves working at Figaro's. They're making great food and having fun doing it.
Wonderful staff and amazing sandwiches/wraps. Easily the best sandwich shop in Boston.
