I'm a wedding photographer that loves Boston's historic Chinatown weddings! I was curious to see what a Chinese wedding venue that could hold 650 people looked like. YEP, 650 guests. They fit without a problem, and somehow the room didn’t feel overwhelming either. Then a 13 course meal! It was EPIC. But make room for the first dance! Which was a bigger showstopper. What Jana Doyle doesn't like about Empire Garden:
Maybe we should have had dim sum. But we ordered off the regular menu. The hot sour soup was OK. The chicken vegetable dish was very bland almost completely tasteless. Maybe we should have had dim sum. But we ordered off the regular menu. The hot sour soup was OK. The chicken vegetable dish was very bland almost completely tasteless. The service was very poor very slow and our server couldn't answer any questions about the alcoholic beverages or the menu items. The tablecloths and napkins were not just stained, but recently dirty and tablecloths were definitely not removed after each use. The best part of my meal was the adult beverage ... the Dragon Delight... which was tasty strong. The atmosphere is different and funky, which is why we selected this place, but I strongly recommend going elsewhere in Chinatown for good food.
Good dimming and slower service to time. the best server are the young lady with the shoulder hair and the young big man with the glasses. if I have one of them as a server, the service is a 5 . if I don't have them as a server, the service can be slow. this is the most beautiful dim-sum restaurant I visited, and I saw hundreds. empire garden is located in an old theatre. excellent ambiente. great drink selection. the mai tai is fantastic. limited dessert selection. in the april 2022, one of the war baskets that loaded with stamp number 4, twice for a court. I don't think it was intentional that she was punched on another line and then stamped again, had a strange look at her face, then went away. Obviously she knew that she made a mistake and instead of correcting it, she obviously hoped that I didn't notice it. because of the look at her face, I looked at the register card and saw 6 letter marks, but I had only 5 dishes. to the luck, none of the plates had been cleaned out from the table (this is not cleaning the table is usually a negatiw, but it helped me in this situation), so I got a hold of a server immediately and showed him 6 letter marks punched for 5 dishes on the table. the server corrected tab. there was one time I paid for the register card and then I was stopped by management and asked if I had paid. I showed them my credit card entrance and said I even gave them a great top of over 20%. I have eaten over a hundred times in the empire garden. I would rate them a 5-star restaurant for the most time I have been here. 10. juni 2022: I have changed the evaluation from four to five, but I have left the comments above.
I'm a high-time photographer who loves boston's historic Chinatown! I was curious to see how a Chinese high-time location that could hold 650 people looked like yep, 650 guests. they fit without a problem, and somehow the room did not feel overwhelming. then a 13-course menu! it was epic. but make room for the first dance! that was a bigger showtopper.
Authentic, real Chinese cuisine in an old theatre. dim sum is excellent. do not expect a menu, just sit down and pick them up from the many baskets. so good!
Such an amazing experience that eating was amazing, the staff was so friendly and even gave us a calendar for the new year! when we eat, we researched the building and found out it was an old theatre. the artwork was amazing so big and beautiful. will definitely be happy again.
