I visited this restaurant after discovering that there is a sizable Cabo Verdean community in Dorchester. My friend and I kicked things off with some perfectly grilled octopus (polvo grelhado) and fried yucca (mandioca frita). I opted for the goat dish (cabritada) while my friend chose the grilled chicken (frango churrasco). Both meals were outstanding. The traditional caipirinhas were spot on, made with grogue from... What Regina Miller doesn't like about Cesaria:
I waited a long time for my food, the staff were unfriendly, and I even saw a mouse run past me on the way to the restroom. It was a terrible experience, and I won’t be returning. Food rating: 2/5. View all feedback.
Great food and atmosphere with great Cape Verdean band. Contrary to some reviews, the service was great as well. Probably because it was not insanely busy.
4 of us had dinner at your Restaurant last night for the first time. The atmosphere, food and service were beyond our expectations- we all loved everything about Restaurant Cesaria! Kevin was an awesome waiter and very helpful with us as we were not used to your cuisine. We will be back and will spread the word about your fabulous restaurant!
A good time.Unsurprisingly, a long wait. Nevertheless, a delicious time. Try the cajun lobster or Cajun shrimp pasta. If you really wanna do it big- have the lobster and shrimp pasta. You will thank me, you're welcome.
If you're in the mood for some cultural cuisine I highly suggest Restaurante Cesaria : . This Cape Verdean Restaurant mixes intense flavors with small dishes! I started with the Polvo Grelhado Grilled Octopus as my appetizer. -which gave a 10/10 in my opinion! These badboys aren't too soft and aren't too chewy actually quite savory! Make sure you dip each piece in the special sauce it comes with for a unique zesty lemony like taste. For my Entree I went with the Shrimp Chicken Cajun Penne Pasta -which is giving -7/10 in my opinion. Im not a huge fan of cheesy sauces and this dish is made with some sort of cheesy based sauced, seafood and chicken! Which can be overbearing of a cheese taste if you're not the biggest cheese person but is still very good and highly scrumptious. P.s. I was so busy tasting the food I didnt get a drink because I really wanted to explore the flavors this restaurant offers. -Its the water for me :THE BAD: The shrimp are absolutely delicious but it only comes with like 6-8 pieces in the entire entree even if you order the shrimp penne with no chicken you still get 6-8 shrimps so be mindful if your on a budget this meal is $19 ; The chicken that comes in this dish isn't really my favorite, its dry by itself but quite complimentary when you mix it with the pasta cajun shrimp. Also, this meal comes with ALOT of oil in it. The GOOD: Location -Dorchester, Bowdoin street public parking accessibility Good music. Great atmosphere. My App. Was $11My Dinner was $19 Flavor wheel 9/10!!! Quality FILLING; wont finish in 1sitting
I've been going here since 2004 and it's always a great experience. Every time I visit, I'm treated like family. My server was Kelly Santos. The staff and cuisine here are outstanding, and you won't be disappointed. If you want a family-friendly atmosphere with wonderful drinks and attentive staff, stop by this location. I will most definitely be returning very soon for more food and a fantastic performance from the band.
