Truly a delightful experience tonight, a wonderful array of eclectic foods. Only sore point: none of us could eat the oyster chowder the fishiest tasting chowder ever made. That said, the biscuits are extraordinary as were the cracklings, peanut hummus (phenomenal), rabbit stew, mac and cheese, and salads. All jaw dropping. I'd highly recommend it, just avoid the weird chowder. View all feedback.
What MeganK doesn't like about Buttermilk Bourbon:
The service has really gone downhill over the years. We were sat 10 minutes after our late-night reservation and then we weren’t even seen for a drink order, or even a glass of water, for another 15 minutes. The waiter came over to us one time during our entire stay and that was to take our entire order at once (our idea because service was slow and we felt ignored). I really enjoyed this restaurant. I was not SUPER impressed with food, but it was good. May return
Service was slow. They seemed understaffed. The biscuits were outrageously good. The mussels meh, the mac and cheese just gross, watery and tasted liqued smoke. Chicken slider also just meh, it was too much chicken and missing flavor. It was lacking in proportion. Not aweful but no need to return.
Everything you want, friendly professional service, good food, outside on the patio provides a real beautiful city ambiance.
Food and service was great a bit noisy to hear in the room we were in, but not sure what/if they can do anything about that. Do not go here if you are watching fat or calorie intake biscuits are the best! Always a treat!
So happy with our first night out in Boston! We were looking for something unique and fun. This place did not disappoint. Remmy was and excellent server and had great recommendations. The menu is served tapas style with portions that were big enough for 3 of us to share. We had the fried chicken thighs with 3 different sauces (our favorite was the white BBQ), the ribs, the brisket Mac and cheese, and last but not least, the peach cobbler bread pudding! So good!!!
