What Londonfoodie doesn't like about Boulud:
The lobster risotto was fantastic and definitely worth the $36 price tag. The other dishes I tried, like the shrimp cocktail, lemon sole, and chocolate mousse, were all quite good but nothing extraordinary. However, the bathrooms were poorly maintained, with no toilet paper or hand towels available. Additionally, we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated despite having a reservation, which was puzzling. View all feedback.
Lobster role is excellent! I normally do not like any sauce on food, but the sauce is this roll is so mixed with the lobster, it makes the taste really comfortable and light. Highly recommend!
Went in for Dine Out Boston. Had the pre fix menu options. The cocktails are eccentric Old Manhattan with Popcorn!! but delicious. We also got a cocktail which was served in a tea cup. Food was tad disappointing though. The salmon from the pre fix menu was bland and over cooked. The hanger steak was well.. chewy.. desserts chocolate gateau and the panna cota were fine but nothing to be raved about.
Great service, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and delicious food! Thank you!
Lovers of French food, we were very impressed with the food at Bar Boulud. We had superb moules frites with extra frites and bone marrow ! and an excellent glass of Sancerre. The atmosphere early evening on a Saturday was relaxed with a very decent noise level. Service was friendly and quick but not rushed. The only disappointment was that we had a reservation for a hightop at 5:30 and when we arrived, all the hightops were taken, and the hostess just said they are first come, first serve.
Food was so so and I could not believe they charged the pelligrino 12 dollars a bottle.Usually even at top restaurants in Boston charges 7 dollars. Our Waitress was nice but rest of the helpers very cold and unfriendly.I expected the restaurant was more up beat when they are charging that much and we were little disappointed and felt like having a dinner in casual bar.
