The Bostonian was closed, but the owner’s car was blocked in by emergency vehicles so he couldn’t go home. He was willing to re-open his shop to make me a sandwich, given that he had the time. Extremely good sandwiches and a dedicated owner. View all feedback.
What George T doesn't like about Bostonian Market And Cafe:
I ordered through Uber Eats and I don’t know exactly what the concept of this place is, as far as food goes, but when I arrived to pick up my food the guy in the kitchen was just heating everything up for me in the microwave. I was expecting to receive an actual, freshly cooked meal from this place, my expectations were very wrong. I ordered the stir fry dinner and a slice of veggie pizza. Once I got back home and to... Went to the Beyond King Tut Experience in Boston 's South End. When we finished it was lunch time and we planned to walk the 2 miles to the Faneuil Hall Marketplace for lunch. But it was over 90 degrees and my husband had a serious case of the hangry 's . Not being familiar with this area I looked up cheap eats and found The Bostonian Market And Cafe was only a 3 min walk from the venue. You 'd miss it for sure walking by, it 's on the corner of Harrison and Fay and looks like it might be a small convenience store. Went in, it 's very small, not fancy, a few tables to sit at. Serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with an amazingly wide range of sandwiches, salads, burgers, dinner specials. The prices were amazing for Boston. We had a fabulous, fresh Greek salad with chicken, the French Quarter sandwich, fries and 2 drinks. Everything was fantastic, large portions and the total cost was $25.50 thought they made a mistake and that was for one meal. But no, the total bill. The 2 gentlemen who did everything could not have been more welcoming or accommodating and fast. And it was clearly the favorite of the neighborhood. Next time we are in Boston we will plan to eat here! We did do the 5 mile round trip walk to Faneuil Hall Marketplace for ice cream and back through the Boston Public Gardens so don 't miss these. But if you are in South Boston or the the South End, this is the place to get a fantastic meal and not break the pocketbook.
Food is very good and very good prices and the employee's are very nice
The only affordable place in the area. The owner knows, but cares about the customers as well and their pocket...

I ordered a stir fry dinner and a slice of veggie pizza. After I got home and took a bite of the stir fry, I immediately threw it in the trash—it was that bad. The pizza slice appeared to be an old cheese pizza from two days ago with some veggies thrown on top, and it didn’t look much different. That also went right in the trash. Overall, it was a dreadful experience. I highly recommend steering clear of this place for food!
