Emily gave the most warm welcome to me and my dog at gone 10pm when I thought everywhere would be closed on a Sunday. I’d left home 10hrs previously and after my exhaust pipe falling off on the A303 an hr into my 3 hr drive I was desperate for a friendly drink and relax before setting up camp for the night in the Motorhome. We struck gold coming here tonight. Thank you Emily, Thank you The Wellington, Boscastle. We’ll be back!
Great service. Friendly staff. Really nice vegan burgers and chips. We had to move our reservation but they were very accommodating. (As an aside, the Ladies toilets smell really nice. Like sweet almond. .
A very enjoyable meal, and helpful attentive staff. The food was especially well prepared and cooked and my wife though the lamb was amongst the nicest she had ever had.
My dad's cousins were visiting and had never been to Boscastle before, and had asked me to suggest a place for dinner (which they very kindly treated me to) We were all very happy with our meals and the friendly and welcoming staff. Very easy to book a table and we had a lovely evening.
We had high hopes of this restaurant considering all the great reviews. We went for an early evening meal, and I ordered the steak and ale pie, with my wife ordering the pumpkin and sage ravioli. The meal came quickly, but that was the end of the great experience. The steak and ale pie contained mostly gravy with only a small few bits of steak. The ravioli was overcooked and tough, swimming in butter, which resulted in a very greasy offering. These days, the vegetarian option should be more imaginative and tasty. My alcohol free drink was £5.50 which in my view was excessive, considering there is no Excise Duty charged on this sort of drink. Overall we were very disappointed with the meal which cost just shy of £40 for two main courses and two drinks. On the plus side, the staff were polite and friendly but it's unlikely we will visit again.
