We had the most incredible and amazing time on our wedding day and the Step House and staff made it extra special. The reception, rooms, décor, food and atmosphere were beautiful. From the drinks reception, to the main meal and then the evening reception everyone sang their praises about how amazing the food was, the quality, and the excellent service. I had such high expectations from eating there before but everything far exceeded my expectations and the food was out of this world. It was truly such an amazing day made so by the wonderful staff and setting of the Step House. A special thanks to all of the staff and in particular Clodagh, Alan and Katie who provided great advice, support, and service and really could not have done more for us. They had such great ideas with excellent attention to detail and no request was too big or small. Everyone really worked together with us in great detail and did an unbelievable job in bringing everything together to make our vision for our wedding come true. All of our guests praised and complimented everything from being greeted by a lovely cosy fire in reception, to the building, garden and décor, the cocktail bar and drinks reception, the exceptionally delicious food, the beautiful hotel rooms, and most of all the friendly, attentive and obliging staff. From the moment we stepped inside the Step House we knew this was the place we wanted our wedding. The hotel is fabulous, the grounds are breath-taking and the reception and waiting staff are wonderful. It’s a real hidden gem tucked away in the middle of the picturesque village of Borris. We had to reschedule our wedding four times due to the pandemic and the Step House could not have been more accommodating. They were a real pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend this wonderful place as a wedding venue or as a treat for a couple of nights. It’s a pure gem.

This is my second experience in the 1808 Brasserie Cellar Restaurant and it was just the same, bravo! We ordered roast breasts of chicken and slow cooked feather blade beef. And the dessert left me speechless... it was just a dream: classic Creme Brulee with Raspberry sorbet Thank you very much! It turned out to be the great day... with the proposal in the end!
