The vegetables from the wok with curry and the Pasta Arrabiata (with lots of garlic) have tasted us very well!

There are 3 vegan dishes. The vegetables from the wok were very delicious and with plenty of vegetables. The tomato soup was okay. In front of the restaurant is a playground, but the play equipment is partly in need of reperature.

Even though Borkum is the largest East Frisian island, the tourist regions are quickly captured. The most popular, highly frequented and very popular destination is Eastland. This is where exactly 2 locals are controlled. Our local guides report that you often have to wait half an hour for a free table. But a trip to the scenic area – by bus or horse carriage, by bicycle or by pedes – will usually be decided by a return. The local guides mentioned also tell that they are regularly annoyed by one, sometimes by the other, because either food quality or service are left to be desired. The shortage of skilled workers in gastronomy is probably due, especially here at the northwestern corner of Germany. But in the end, the guest always returns... The peasants' rooms are already covered by a special domain on the Internet. At “hauptsachen.de” you have to come first! But in real terms, they convince with rustic fitness and soil standing, with rural flair, animals and a coupling directly at the house. In the guest room there is a rather gloomy interior, with cold clinker base, dark ceiling beams and rural furniture, as they could also come from a Black Forest House. Fourthly, we are forced to a table with two benches, which could have been designed to be somewhat wider (where with damp jackets, voluminous backpacks, caps and field cups? At noon on a snowy day of the week at the end of April, there is not too big a godseidank. We are quickly served, supplied with menus and beverages, and will never be faced with long waiting times in the future. The extensive menu offers various fish and meat dishes, several salad variations, classics such as matjes variations, panfish or peasant beef, breakfast for long sleepers (until 12 a.m., dairy (as the one on Borkum is offered in many different variants, however, I have not developed and a large children's offer. In general, children are highly welcome here, not only in lucullic, but also in the past: many animals and a large playground lure out there! Since I'm invited, I can say little at the prices. They seem appropriate and moderate. The matjes is fine, still very young and buttery. The Remoulade served for this is, however, too fat and too powerful for my taste. Well, in wind and cold, you have to feed on high-calorie... Very nice to see is the peasant beef, which is served with plenty of onions, even more roast potatoes and an attractive salad set. This harmonizes perfectly, even though here too the excessively greasy Remoulade brings a small drop of points. Less exciting is the salad plate with North Sea crabs and smoked salmon, which is called Fischerin-Salat and is served with baguette slices. Speaking of who wants to order extra Baguette, here has 1.20 euros per serving, which I find a little bit small. Other Manko: unfortunately our drinks are all served ice-cold. Here we should have formulated our wishes better when ordering. Apparently, every weekday is still waiting with special evening activities: Monday: Matjes-Vielfalt, Tuesday: Scholle, Butt Meer, Wednesday: Around the potato, Thursday: Furnace fresh Spareribs and Friday: East Frisian specialities. This is a good idea because most visitors leave after the coffee and cake period – the last bus leaves after 23:00. I have not been able to discover a special commitment in the peasant rooms; Looks like the place's running like that. There is only the second place mentioned at local competition. Explicit child-friendliness seems to have written on the flags here – and this is already a possible selection criterion. For a longer Borkum stay, you will certainly visit both Eastland locals several times. And find changing quality.

After an extensive beach walk with the destination Eastland we reached the peasant rooms and a very cozy sunny place in the garden at noon. Since we drove to Eastland 30 years ago to eat a piece of East Friesentorte, but we were completely disappointed last year, we were only careful with the order. It turned out, however, that last year we have confused the café (there are two in the East! . Then the said cake and Mega was enthusiastic. Was as delicious as before. And it's good that we had to go back about 6 km on the beach... We'll be back. For a piece of East Frisenentorte in the farmhouses there is no way too far (also with strong east wind on the beach....

If you like something other than fish, you can choose the herbal curry. Very well seasoned, according to the map no additives are used which is also well lubricated, fresh vegetables, all around successful. Who then chose a piece of the sea buckthorn cake did nothing wrong. Extremely delicious and even baked. In this place you can sit very well outside. Some covered and windproof seats are available. Here we are happy to come back.
