It is really quite small, maybe nine tables, with a solitary chef in the open plan kitchen at the rear. He is ably assisted by a charming waitress. The theme is truffles, accompanying everything. The tasting menu was sampled, five small courses, including an amuse bouche. Although the artichoke soup was great, as was the duck leg, the star of the show has to be the scrambled eggs, beautifully smooth, with fine truffle flakes on top. The wine list was quite small, maybe ten offerings in all, none extravagantly expensive. Great stuff, very original, and well worth a visit.
I would like to mark that attempts of the waiter , she was fine, but during all meal she was asking if everything is good actually good was only Wine! The rest was catastrophic-this place is for those ones -who newer tries fresh food and truffles! My friend spent all night in toilette after the main course from tasting menu.... Because of poisonings-WE WERE SO DISSAPOINTED! Nothing fresh there -I am highly surprised why rating of this place is so good?!
On multiple trips both domestic USA and overseas I have searched TripAdvisor for restaurant recommendations. This was a gem. Neither the tour guide nor the woman at the Tourist Information Bureau in Bordeaux knew the exact location nor the restaurant, despite the fact it was located a few blocks away. The tour buses drop near the Place des Quinconces and Saveurs D’Aquitaine is a two minute walk. The hostess/waitress could not have been more gracious explaining the chalk board menu to us. With our poor French language understanding we were able to order a delicious lunch, watch the chef prepare it and enjoy a quiet interlude away from the tourist bustle. Foie gras and truffles, fabulous!
Fantastic food and great service. Maybe the best Tuna Carpaccio I have ever had. The only negative was a lack of air conditioning but it would be unfair to mark down for this as it was Bordeaux's hottest day on record.
Buen menu, tasting of distintos platos con trufa.
