Contribute FeedbackAfter touring the Bordeaux Public Gardens we stopped at this cafe for a bottle of wine and lunch. Even though there were tables available and no one waiting the hostess didn’t want to seat us. After standing a few minutes she came back and seated us at a table on their terrace. She than walked over to the two waitresses and say something and they all looked at us and laughed. For thirty minutes we sat there and neither of the two waitresses would look at us, five other tables were sat around us and served water and drink orders were taken within a couple of minutes. Either they don’t like gay couples or Americans, I walked in and confronted the hostess and young waitress on why no one would serve us. The young waitress leaned forward into my face and smiled and said to bad and they laughed. So this is a mean joke they must play on tourist. I became a bit upset and we left, at this time their cook came running after us yelling you can’t treat us like that. We were totally stunned and just kept walking. Don’t just believe this review, well over 50% of the reviews on TripAdvisor are poor or terrible and some people had our experience. We filled out a complaint form at the tourist office. Don’t waste your time!
Very nice restaurant. We popped in out of the rain. At around €20 min for a main course it is not a cheap plaice, but it is worth it. The food was fresh and cooked perfectly. 10/10 to our young waitress. Using dance and physical actions to explain Gambas was great!
This restaurant has beautiful tranquil surroundings and is a haven of peace in a frenetic City. We were nicely shielded from the sun and flanked by statues and relished the two coffees we had in such peaceful surroundings. We also had a good view of a team shooting a film probably for China or Japan by their Oriental features to add to the ambiance of the place.
The new owner has done much to improve the overall feeling one gets dining here, new umbrellas, outside seating, etc., BUT he has changed a few items on the menu that just did not need to be changed. Today we both ordered the chicken burger . Served with the best French Fries in Bordeaux, BUT the sandwich has been drastically changed. Rather than a grilled chicken breast, it is now simple TWO yes 2) small breaded chicken fingers. Yep the type you feed your young kids. One very small one used as garnish on the top, and the complete sandwich a tasty brioche by the way) was filled with ONE small chicken finger and some melted cheddar cheese. Normally would not complain, but the prices have gone up and this sandwich was 20 eu or $23.50 US for two smaller than kid size chicken fingers. I will continue to go here, but JUST SO NOT order the Chicken burger, it is a complete failure.
Superb park, well maintained and shaded, a place of relaxation parfais, there is a room of water, the park with many remarkable trees. There is also a restaurant, sculptures and many places to sit and enjoy a relaxing moment in peace. If this review was helpful, please think about the blue thumb
