Contribute FeedbackMe and some friends went out for dinner, we had a child who is celiac and has a couple of other severe allergy. This child had brought her lunch box from home and started eating at the restaurant, the manager interrupted us, asking the girl...to stop eating, according to him, foods from “outside” couldn’t be eating there; despite my best efforts to explain the allergies, the “manager” ask us to leave the restaurant with the sentence: “I don’t give a sh to your problem”. Unfortunately we did not have the opportunity to ask the name of this man, but for sure he was the manager. Please, help us to avoid this kind of prejudice and don’t go to this place. Regards
On a drinks night with friends we asked the manager to warm a meal for a child with severe allergy which he refused to do. Despite our effort to explain the challenges associated with Celiac disease he simply said the restaurant rules forbid any meal...cooked outside. We explained that was prejudice and for our surprise he said he did not care and told us to leave. The child is years old and left the restaurant in tears. Unbelievable!!!
This is a delightful Cafe on the banks of the river. Well presented with modern furnishings it has that air of sophistication surrounding it. All manner of drinks available , from cocktails ,wines and spirits and a food menu selection sufficient to satisfy anyone. Beautiful...atmospheric bar and Cafe which is always a pleasure to visit and gives off that relaxing feel that is a tonic to any of us.
Visited this riverside cafe three times. You can have a coffee, glass of wine, lunch or gourmet dinner here all with the same level of service. You can eat outside or under cover. Booking is essential for dinner. The atmosphere is informal and the place...is a favourite with French and tourists. The menu was varied with specials available. We had duck breast and entrecôte the first time and scallops st Jacque the second time with a good bottle of Rose. The have an extensive cellar. Wine prices start at a bottle up to €€€€€€€€€€€. We also had entree’s which were very good. All sweets are prepared by an award winning chef and are beautiful. Main courses ranged from around Children’s menu available as well. We loved it. Special mention for head waiter, Samuel who was efficient, helpful and friendly.
Just when I thought that we were going to have to eat corporate, up pops Ibaia, on the main walk down from Le Cite du Vin, alongside the river, good selection on the menu, we ended up with chicken bowls, a surprising mix of oriental...and salad, with noodles and a soup/sauce in the bottom, incredibly tasty, also being so hot (the weather) they kept us topped up with water, only the bottles. Great lunch stop, if ever we come back to Bordeaux we’ll see you again.
