At the back of the Chard restaurant is Plantations, a bit of a gem this place. The food is exactly the same as the main restaurant so is just as good, the main advantage is that seating is far better and you are not stuck in the middle of a large noisy room full of people. Hungry, Thirsty, Exhausted what more does a Restaurant want to mak a living?We wnet to the counter.... and stood, and stood and waited for the girl on the till / table bookings to say yes you may eat here? Then a table beside the wall and the menu. We ordered well done beef... I was expecting it to be charcoal an hour later when it MOOED at me half dead half raw..WELL DONE. I recently took a family member out for a celebratory dinner at Chard. The food was absolutely delicious, although it did take a bit longer to be served since we didn't have a reservation. Our waiter was fantastic and made sure we were well taken care of. I highly recommend this place for families, beer enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys good red meat.
Wow this place has turned around! It had been a while since I'd visited Char'd and I came here twice in November for a graduation celebration and a work Christmas party. The food has really increased in quality and value and the speed has also, thankfully, increased. Where you would sometime spend over an hour waiting for your food on a busy night, the turnaround has definitely improved-you can tell they've worked hard to accommodate demand. Great for large groups!
We had an excellent lunch here. The venue is large and impressive, but also welcoming and comfortable. The service was friendly and professional and, while not lightning fast, our food came out within an acceptable time frame.I had the Maple Glazed Pork. It was a generous size and came with a tasty, mustardy sauce. My only gripe is that a few leaves of baby spinach really isn't enough to balance the meal. A more substantial green vegetable would have been better.My mother appreciated the option of a small main and chose the Corned Silverside with White Sauce. It was still quite a generous size and she left nothing on the plate.Our friend, who is very knowledgable about food, said his steak was cooked to perfection.All meals were excellent and the desserts were decadent and well presented. We had the Belgian Waffles (which were as light as air and perfectly cooked), the White Chocolate Brownie (which was a great size for elderly mother's smaller appetite) and the Sticky Date Pudding (a lighter version than I prefer but perfectly acceptable).I thought the prices were reasonable given the quality of the venue and the food and the unexpected joy of full table service.I'd highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to going back.
I hate sitting for 3/4 hr after you arrive. Shoved on a table up the wall. A great thinker because by the minute you simply climb up the wall. To get a drink was endless. The other areas are generally ver good... We just copped the Bundamba TAFE Cert 1... in putting me up the wall. I'm HUNGRE... I want a Drink... where the ark are you?????
Caught up with friends here and had a reasonable priced 2 course meal for a set price. Service was efficient and friendly. Food very tasty, lots of choices and enjoyed the setting. We will be back.
