Harvest Restaurant & Bar @ Metro Hotel Ipswich

My self and my husband have just spent four weeks staying at the Metro International hotel and had the privilege of eating at the Harvest Restaurant.We were here long enough to try the entire menu, and can say without reservation that the food was top class. The chefs that work here take pride in serving fine dining meals created with the freshest of seasonal produce. The love and care they put into their food showed on the plate every time.Also a big shout out to all of the staff that served us in this time, Pavlina, Kurt, Prado,Emily,Jasmine and Warwick. They were nothing less than professional, friendly and warm, which made our stay here second to none.

I stay at the hotel (Metro) regularly... up to 10 nights a month. Food has improved a lot since the new chef came on board but the quality can be variable. Whilst the new menu is great the 3 elements on the dish that works on Masterchef doesn't cut it for those who use the restaurant as dinner after a long day at work. We don't want just herb chicken, potato, roast onion with a bit of bacon and gravy (taste is lovely but they are all brown so visually not impressive anyway) ... add a splash of colour with some veg ... and not just a choice of sprouts or peas (which cost extra as a side dish ... well 2 side dishes actually).Please consider us for whom the hotel is a home away from home ... be flexible, particularly to your best potential repeat customers.

When it gets down to hearing complimentary "words and comments on the street" you must be doing something right. This is my second review (but 4th visit) and this place is still as good as our first visit and dare i say it is getting better the menu is not huge but honestly you do not need a huge menu. Everything is good and when you have a mixed group who have some food allergies, intolerances and requirements is a testament to the chef to provide a menu that all members at the table had a good option which is a pleasure to eat. One of my mates is a vego and he raved about the food as it did not feel like a pseudo vego option like you just omitted the meat on the plate but like they understood the balance of the meal so there was protein and carbs not just a side salad and few roasted vege off another dish. well done Harvest

Well we returned to ensure it was not a fluke we were at the Harvest a month or more i suppose now and like restaurants can have a bad night they can have the odd good night .... but.... the Harvest has certainly benefited for the changes that was needed and i am glad it has happened ... the new chef seems to have swept a new raft of changes to the menu which has re-enlivened the whole feel of the place... we noticed the addition of wonderful local produce now which is great as we live near salad/vege bowl of SEQ and businesses are mad if they dont use this wonderful .... the haloumi YUM YUM and Gnocci are fab dishes to share and start with ... Honestly i could not go past the chocolate brownie for dessert and others had the panna cotta... But the table sampled 3 of the mains and ended up sharing them with one another as we all claimed ours was the best ... we had the salmon; steak and I had to had the slow roasted brisket and we were totally thrilled with the fresh flavours... this restaurant is really good now and shows the difference a great chef makes . will be a regular go to place now as i heard they are now changing up the menus more regularly which means no time to get bored and the prospect of going more often to make sure you try the new things will be wonderful... oh and few restaurants i have been to in Ippy offer the wine suggestions but the Harvest does .... dont believe me about how good it is go and try it yourself...

Dinner was amazing. Staff were friendly and table service was exceptional. Slow cooked Brisket was just melt-in-your-mouth tender and tasty.
