We visited this alfresco cafe on a sunny, Sunday morning for a catch up with friends. The cafe is perfectly placed, the views across to the river are beautiful. It was quite busy when we arrived, but after a short wait, our order was taken by a lovely girl, who was friendly and helpful. There are lots of choices for both drinks and food that are family friendly - the smaller drink options are great for younger family... View all feedback.

bad, bad, bad. the ordered egg bean, the first portion came with eggs that seemed so long they were cooked, the meal was sent back and got another portion that was egg that were partly boiled and cold as they had. from the refrigerator. instead of risk poisoning, I have my money back. also the place is overrun with dogs, there were more dogs than men. Had a family gathering here on a Sunday. Food is good and coffee hit the spot. Plenty of things for kids of all ages to do. A great little hidden gem.

It was quite busy when we arrived, but after a short wait, our order was taken by a lovely girl, who was friendly and helpful. There are lots of choices for both drinks and food that are family friendly - the smaller drink options are great for younger family members - and the hot chips are some of the best I have eaten. We had a really large order but it arrived at our table in record time. We enjoyed our visit (it's the second time we have been here) and would definitely come again.
Situated in the Colleges Crossing picnic area on Mt Crosby Rd Chuwar (near Ipswich), this café offers 1) A great location 2) Fantastic views of the river and surrounding parklands 3) great food which is very well priced with friendly service. On this occasion I was their for breakfast and a coffee. The menu was extensive and the choice numerous. The views of the surrounding parklands and river only added to a beautiful QLD Autumn day. If you are in the area this could be the place for a breakfast or lunch with both dine in or take away options.Parking: I was their mid week so their was plenty of parking. I would think that on the week end it would be a lot more crowded.Their are also plenty of clean toilets near the café and the access to the Café and Parklands is very manageable.
My husband and I are semi-regular visitors to this cafe/kiosk at Colleges Crossing. The food isn't fancy but it is well presented, reasonably priced, solid fare which is always fresh and hot. The coffee is fine, the staff very friendly and accommodating. The menu is standard sandwiches, burgers etc as well as a breakfast menu with enough variety to suit most tastes? There is a lovely view over the river from most tables with easy accessibility and it is dog friendly. Most tables are shaded and there are well maintained, clean public amenities close by.
Great spot, can't beat the view of the river. Food was awesome, drinks refreshing, and just a great relaxing place to kill an hour or two.
