Description

Tucked into town, this warm, family-run restaurant pairs attentive service and a lively bar with a menu of comforting favorites—hot crab dip, burgers, steaks, daily specials and homemade desserts. Regulars praise personable owners and a familial vibe ideal for date nights, anniversaries and casual business dinners. While many dishes shine and the beer selection is a bonus, guests note occasional inconsistencies (soups, steaks), some inexperienced staff and at least one reservation/closure mishap. Still, creative specials and welcoming service keep patrons coming back.

I highly recommend getting the pretzel. It's fantastic. If you like bloody Marys this place is a go-to. The food is always good and the wait staff are attentive. The restaurant is inside an old house don't let the location stop you. It's a diamond in the rough. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair assembly Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

5 star resturant doesn't even come close to the exceptional service and food quality we experienced on a busy Friday night. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and welcomed like we where regulars. The setting is an old house off the main street with plenty of street parking. Through the front door is a small but inviting sit at bar. Several small tables throughout 2 rooms and 1 larger room that had several people sitting around 2 large tables. The walls were covered with interesting pictures of locals and older architecture from the town. The waitress was very friendly and helped us upon sitting down. We recieved our drink order quickly and she answered all our questions with great recommendations. We ordered the Ahi Tuna and skillet potatoes. The waitress said it may be alittle while due to large wedding party. We recieved our salad quickly with house made horseradish dill dressing that was rich and full of flavor. To our very pleasent surprise our food arrived very quickly. The waitress told us the owner pushed our meal ahead of the big party and the owner wanted to meet us and talk. The presentation of the Ahi Tuna with the potatoes was perfect. The Tuna was prepared perfect and able to cut with a fork edge like butter. The sauce was perfectly added to the Tuna in a very minimal amount as to not over power the fish but compliment the dish with a richness. The potatoes were a surprise with deep pepper and buttery flavor. The entire dish was definitely unique and delicious. The owner introduced himself Brad Woolridge and asked if he could sit and visit. He told us of the history of his resturant and his father's strong influence in his life so much so there was a wall of pictures of his life and a resturant table that he and his father dined at regularly. Very rich emotional inspired history Brad shared with us. I could write so much about Brad and the conversation he had with us. He truly is a passionate resturant owner and chef. He introduced us to Tank the chef and Spencer the bartender. We had great conversations with both of them. This was a very unique and inspiring experience. Only in a small town do you get to meet exceptional people that love living their lives and enjoy meeting strangers. Wj's is a must stop and we would drive out of our way to experience the outstanding people we met and consider friends. Thank you Brad and your staff for a truly unique night of dining and conversation.

We were in town for a funeral. We decided to come to WJ’s for dinner based on the reviews. We walked in (5 people).the hostess looked at me and said”we don’t have room for you”. Not there will be a wait. As a visitor to this town I feel that was an extremely rude response to a potential paying customer. Do better Service: 1
