Description
Nestled in the picturesque Anderson Valley, a charming restaurant offers a fine dining experience that draws mixed feedback from patrons. While some guests appreciate the warm service and exquisite wine selection, others are disappointed with the pricey prix fixe menu, citing poorly executed dishes and inexperienced staff. Highlights include well-prepared raw oysters and delectable duck confit, but complaints about overcooked meats and unpalatable ingredients tarnish its reputation. Despite the inconsistencies, many recommend the restaurant for its unique ambiance and local charm, making it a noteworthy stop for diners exploring the beautiful surrounding region. Reservations are advised to ensure a pleasant experience.

This restaurant was outstanding! It provided the best dining experience we had on our trip from the Bay Area to the northern coast. They offer a four-course prix fixe menu priced at around $220 for two people, which includes wine and gratuities. The menu changes daily, so it's a good idea to call ahead if you want to find out what's being served. We enjoyed every dish, and the service was both friendly and attentive. The highlight for us was the impeccably prepared duck confit. We dined there on a Monday when the kitchen wasn't too busy, so making reservations is definitely advisable. If you're in the Anderson Valley area, this restaurant is a must-visit!
We chose to try the prix fixe dinner at this restaurant, despite its high price. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations as the food didn't meet the standards we hoped for. While the staff was polite, they appeared to lack experience in both service and presentation. The raw oysters in the first course were enjoyable, but the subsequent dishes were disappointing—featuring overcooked meat and tough slices of eggplant, along with flavors that clashed. Additionally, some ingredients seemed to be of low quality, such as a substandard peach that played a key role in one dish. In the end, we decided to leave before dessert and instead went to a nearby place for hamburgers.
Just checked out and I'm absolutely speechless! The food was incredible, the rooms were cozy and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth the visit! Only a two-hour drive from San Francisco.
