Unfortunately there are no alternatives to Sonja`s in bonn, if you want to have cozy and well-kept pub-feeling. lives by many tribes, one might be a bit more friendly to the guests.

Well today for dinner we stopped in there. What a cute restaurant. Definitely worth the stop! It was decorated from floor to ceiling in fall motif. The decorations were tastefully done and added some character and charm we did not expect. We even got to meet Sonja herself as she come out to the table to explain some of the menu items. We shared a bowl of Portuguese Mussels enough for four people. They were yummy! Based on the menu and plates we noticed coming out of the kitchen we are definitely visiting again.

Things began badly with warm mineral water being brought. When we queried this we were brought some ice rather than the ice bucket everyone else had. We asked what a dish was that someone else had only to be told by the waitress that she didn’t know! That was the only answer we got about that. When the food came it was a sloppy mess. I had goat’s cheese in honey and walnuts. Sounded great but was covered in chilli flakes not described on the menu. The other dish was a kebab covered in sloppy sweet and sour sauce! We really couldn’t eat much. The waitress asked if we’d enjoyed the food and we said no. Not only weren’t we offered anything off the bill but it was obvious the owner was sitting there eating too and she didn’t make a move or show any concern. Avoid this place!
