View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Gesindehaus:
Ich bin schon häufig am Gesindehaus vorbeigegangen, aber erst heute bin ich drin. Das Interieur ist angenehm rustikal, die Bedienung flott und nett, die Speisekarte sehr ansprechend.Leider mir auch etwas zu teuer. Die Portionen sind zwar gut, aber dann doch etwas für den volleren Geldbeutel.Ansonsten sollte man noch etwas zum lokalen Bier dem PÖPPsch sagen: sehr lecker. View all feedback.
Best sausage of my life. Very generous portions where everything is on point, the salad, the dressing, the sauces, the side dishes, but these sausages are really something else...fresh, flavourful, tender and all around delicious. 10/10 would recommend, because the service was also very accommodating, friendly and professional. Loved the experience.
I have reviewed Gesindehaus before but I have been there a number of times since my prior review. I fly to Bonn, normally once per year for business and have made my way to Gesindehaus each time. This review is much overdue, but, I thought I would be back to Bonn since then, but due to a number of factors, have not, so I decided to write this review now because it is such a great place that feel like I have not done it justice by not writing about my April 2019 visit. I previously talked about the food, and it is just as good as ever, hearty, fresh, but with a modern twist. This last visit, I actually planned to eat a number of meals here, even though that meant about 45 minutes of tram and walking from where my hotel was located, it is worth it, just do it : . Besides the food, another thing thing that stands out is that they brew their own beer and it is very good. It is in the regional tradition, but fresher and better. The biggest thing to me that stands out though is Carlos, he is amazing and made me and my work colleagues that went there feel like family. He let me practice my German, and I think I may be the only who thinks I speak better after a number of beers, but he humors and helps me stumble through an order...or makes me feel totally fine speaking in English. I can't say enough about how accommodating he was as our group ebbed and flowed in size, we were a blended group of Americans and some local Germans from Bonn, although, he didn't know we had local Bonn colleagues until much later when they showed up. Just a tremendous place, large enough to share laughs with friends and not overpower the room yet small enough to be warm and comfortable. Can't say enough great things about Gesindehaus.
We actually came here by lack of other options but were really positively surprised. They have a good menu of hearty, regional dishes that are served in a modern way and taste really good. Service is really friendly, too. The only downside is that the outside terrace is on the sidewalk, thus directly next to a busy street.

The staff at Gesindehaus is awesome and taking very well care of it's guests. Local beer (Poeppsch) is delicious and served in small glasses so frequent refills are common. The food is delicious and besides typical German dishes on the menus they also serve things with an interesting twist. On top you can order small portions as the regular ones are quite filling. At Gesindehaus the seating area can fill quickly, so better book ahead. Plus thy got some lovely outdoor area which is at a crossing but allows you to sit in the sun until sunset. Definitely your go to place in Poppelsdorf for a relaxed beer-night out around dinner time.
