We went there for ice cream on Sunday with a few friends. It's a really lovely place, and quite busy. I knew right away that everything would be perfect: friendly staff, clean and tidy. The sundaes, cones, and crepes were excellent. We're from Cologne and we have to admit, this place is simply fantastic. Many thanks for the great service and, of course, for the incredibly delicious ice cream. Greetings from Cologne.
Super delicious spaghetti ice cream, large portions, and very friendly staff! :
Our absolute highlight on Rochusstrasse! Delicious coffee specialties for both the cold and warm seasons. The ice cream is homemade and outstanding. The flavors are finely balanced, and the selection of creative options is extensive. For a lighter snack, there's bruschetta, for example; the arugula version is particularly delicious! The friendly team puts a lot of passion into this café.
Homemade ice cream should be clearly differentiated from commercially produced ice cream in several aspects – primarily through the use of natural ingredients and authentic flavors. In my opinion, artificial colors or preservatives have no place in it. If you make your own ice cream or offer it to your customers as handmade, you should also pay attention to the quality of the ingredients. This includes consciously avoiding artificial flavors and eye-catching colors – such as the blue variety. Another point is the sugar content: Many varieties are highly over-sweetened. In my experience, for example with ice cream in Italy, less sugar often tastes more pleasant and balanced. I would like to see a slightly reduced sweetness in the next batch – that would certainly improve the taste, even if it makes the ice cream a bit more expensive. You can taste the quality.
