Very hit and miss...mostly miss unfortunately, the last couple of times we have been here it has been terrible! With so many kitchen staff you would hope there would be at least one of them can cook, this is not the case, we had a chicken schnitzel that was deep dried to the point of no return, the chicken was almost non existent, we would have taken it back but after waiting for over an hour for our meals there seem... Bomaderry Bowling Club Bistro is a great place to have lunch or dinner. If you are a member they have a monthly members 3 course menu. You can choose to either have entree or sweets with the main, making it a two course with costs adjusted if you prefer. Lunchtime specials are always available at about $10.00.Meals are fairly large, and the menu has many choices. It does change occasionally.Situated close to the Bar and amenities makes for a pleasant evening.Coffee and desserts etc. cafe are situated on the left hand side of the bistro counter. We eat here regularly.
We stopped at the club for a quick lunch catching up with brother & family. Plenty of parking was available and we where quickly signed in and found our way to the Bistro. We found the venue busy but the line was moving reasonably quickly with a 10 minute wait to order the meals. We ordered for 8 covers and where surprised with the speed of the service as well as the quality. There is an expectation that club bistro meals can be ordinary but these where wholesome and had excellent chips. The salad bar was self serve which had all homemade salads available. The menu is quite extensive with all meals except the roasts cooked fresh. If you need a quick stop within an air conditioned environment then this is a good reliable place to go. It is not a special event place just somewhere to get fed and watered in nice surroundings.
We go out to Bowling Club weekly for dinner on "cheap tuesday". The food is always good and the menu offers a big variety. Unfortunately there are only few vegetarian choices. But the staff is very friendly and accepts special orders, for example a vegetarian pizza. The vegetable plate is very delicious! We really love the lentil burger, which is a little spicy but always a good choice and something different. The dessert - a dream! You get always complimentary ice cream and cream with your choice of cake. Plastic Boxes for take away food are for free as well. In summary, we really recommend to visit the Bowling Club for dinner, especially on cheap tuesday.
I've had lunch here a few times. Always good quality food and friendly service. Highly recommend the oysters natural and oysters kilpatrick which I shared with my dad as an entree. mains were the fish and chips and a scotch fillet steak with Diane sauce. Well cooked, tasty and the fish and chips were light and crispy and not greasy. Both mains came with salad from the self serve salad bar. Again these were fresh and nicely prepared. Options included mixed green salad, potato salad, coleslaw and a lovely roast veg and pearl couscous salad. Meals and wine are all at club prices and lunch for 4 people with wine and beer was just over $100, which included 1 ½ doxen oysters.
A good average bistro meal not over the top prices but a little on the high for a club meal good atomspher
