What Ercole Giuliani doesn't like about Grotto Val d’Ambra:
On a rainy Saturday, with my family, a group of 6, passing by bike at 1230, despite the high marks, we felt very very unwelcome -;((. After a bit of discussion we finally managed to get a Ticino plate which was OK. A hot soup to warm up was declined. Host and staff were not interested at all to do business. I had totally three dinners here in two years. Passing by the area by highway, I stopped with guests and enjoyed this classic Tissin "grotto" -that's how they call simple restaurants adjacent to the mountains, often consisting of grottos where cheese and ham is stored.The menu is limited in variety but everything is delicious, you sit on stone benches, resting under the trees of the wood.
