the food, drinks and service were excellent as always. I only held one star back because the fresh **** in their big cioppino did not crack their dishes in the kitchen, which drastically increases the disorder of the teller. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Lucas Wharf Restaurant Bar:
The menu has taken a turn for the worse. Now, 80% of the offerings are fried. Gone are the unique dishes and the reasonable prices. I may return, but not for the food; the bar and the view from the window and terrace still make for a pleasant experience. View all feedback.
Have loved this place for over 20+ years. Still has that old style fisherman's wharf feel. Excellent food, Excellent service, Excellent Bodega Bay views. I'm bias living nearby. Parking: Parking can be a problem at time with the popularity with locals tourists. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Hitting the coast recently and popped into this little place for lunch. Great location on the water, mildly busy. Service was standard, we were seated quickly and the server was efficient albeit not very personable. We had the Dungeness Crab Cakes Appetizer which was truly more of a salad with a couple of mini crab cakes. They were flavorful as was the mandarin vinaigrette on the greens but wished there were a bit more for the price. My wife and I shared the Rockfish Chips and the Salmon Tacos. In hindsight, this was just too mush fried food for one sitting... I'm generally not a fan of salmon for tacos but these worked just fine. The rockfish was fine, nothing crazy but was good. Fries were a bit cold but I truly shouldn't complain about them as it kept me from eating them all! Cold beer, great view, all and all not a bad stop.
Great brunch with a beautiful view overlooking bodega harbor and the bay. Loved their Eggs Benedict with crabmeat. Eggs were nice and runny. It also came with hash browns which was the bomb- super fluffy, seasoned with rosemary. It was addicting. Their fish and chips were delicious too- they use fresh local rockfish. Super tender but very meaty.
This was a nice meal out of limited options in Bodega Bay. Slightly more upscale, at least in price, if not decor or view. The costs are in the range of $14 18 for appetizers and $20 40+ for main dishes. Not a ton of vegetarian options. The view is of their docks, which aren't in great shape, but at least you know where your seafood came from and can watch the ducks swim by. Everything tasted just fine, as expected. Service was also fine but not excellent. The interior is sailor y and could use a bit of TLC for instance, the blind near us was broken and the server climbed on a chair to roll it up manually. A large parking lot makes getting there easy.
Definitely one of the larger fish restaurants in the area. There is even a designated, pretty reasonably large one, parking lot but some of the spots are pretty small. It does have a variety of the classic fish dishes. Got the rockfish and chips, salmon fish and chips, and a plate of the grilled oysters. Solid fried fish. Will say that my personal preference was the salmon fish and chips, to me it had some more flavor. The tarter sauce is more subtle than other ones but I did like it better. The grilled oysters weren't anything particularly special, probably wouldn't order again especially for the cost. Talking a bit more about the cost. It is pricy. I was expecting it to be given the general cost of seafood. However at the bottom of the menu there is a note about an added surcharge for making sure the staff had a living wage. It was just odd. I agree that staff should be paid enough, and everyone that worked there was amazing and friendly.
