what a hidden gem in port stephens. murrays is very well known, but restaurant william is on another level. Aesthetic and storytelling doesn’t make up for extraordinarily high prices and sloppy service. The maître d was great, very knowledgeable about wines and the menu, however she was clearly the only staff member who did. The other waitress, who was wearing tracksuit pants, runners and a t-shirt, was out of her depth and had to check everything. The food, whilst delicious, took forever to come to the table.
