Description

Nestled in a nondescript building, this charming restaurant offers a delightful homage to Michigan with its menu featuring walleye and lake perch. Diners rave about the excellent seafood and house-made sauces, particularly the Norwegian salmon dijonaise. While the appetizers and salads impress, some main dishes like the Seafood Pasta have drawn criticism for being watery and lacking flavor. The ambiance is intimate, and the service is top-notch, although side dish offerings could use improvement. Despite the premium pricing reflective of the area, many consider it a hidden gem with the potential for an outstanding dining experience. Reservations are advised.

I was going to give them a four-star but since the past owner is from Muskegon Michigan he gets a five star and that he has MSU flag and Red wings hanging. Nice sit-down restaurant. Good atmosphere. The onion rings and french fries were very good. The ribs had good seasoning but the meat itself was a little rubbery. I got a Stella bottled beer that was also skunky but then I got a dosaquis and that tasted better. A lot of seafood options but also different options for those non-sea food lovers like myself. Take a look at a few pictures I took and go green!

Enjoyed a great dinner last night! I know it is a seafood restaurant, but I just had to try the Jaeger Schnitzel. I have had it at German restaurants, but I wanted to compare it with the May River Grill's. It was excellent! I especially enjoyed it with the mushroom demi glaze sauce with bacon, onions, and peppers. The cutlet was tender with a lightly breaded coating. The chef did a fantastic job! Our server, Justin, was friendly and very accommodating. Definitely need reservations and be aware that there is another restaurant with the same name in Palmetto Bluff. The two are not related, but are easily confused when making reservations.
