We found ourselves pleasantly charmed by this old house that has been made into a fine wine/tapas bar. Many delicious Catalunyan wines very reasonably priced compliment creative takes on many dishes.
Small, bespoke, quality. Don't expect the tourist tapas, it is well put together and beautifully presented. Different dishes, have a try. If you have an open palette you'll love it. The best bit is the quality of the wine. Talk to the sommelier he knows and his English is good enough. Bit more expensive than the promenade restaurants but well worth it.
We figured very quickly out that the best restaurants in Blanes are not the ones by the seaside full of tourists viewing laminated menus with pictures of the courses, but the ones tucked away in the back alleys and narrow streets of the old town. This one proves the point. The atmosphere is fantastic. It is admittedly more a winebar than a restaurant, (there was no menu, laminated or otherwise), but the tapas we got was brilliant. My son especially enjoyed dissecting the mini octopus in one of the courses. The wine was local and very good. English is spoken, so no silly misunderstandings. Highly recommended.
