This place is old and run down, besides that the server was sweet but the only one working and she was older and slow. The food was alright it is home made and priced right.

We went into Cobbs just after 11am (5 minutes). There were only two others in the diner and they were eating breakfast. The server said they called it in and ar... read more We went into Cobbs just after 11am (5 minutes). There were only two others in the diner and they were eating breakfast. The server said they called it in and are not serving breakfast now after 11am. We were seated and given menus. Several of the items were crossed out in felt pen. After a few minutes, the server came back and said what do you want . I ordered the chicken fried chicken as did my daughter and my wife. My son in law ordered the Santa Fe Chicken. He didn 't like it and said the chicken was rubbery. The first bite of my chicken indicated that the crust was made of saltine crackers and the texture of the chicken was soft and mushy. My daughters was the same way as was my wife 's. They peeled off the coating and only ate about 1/4 of it. A salad bar came with the meals so we got our salads which only had about 5 items on it not including the dressings. As you can see in the picture, the salad bar should have been rebuilt or thrown out years ago. The raw particle board on the food side edge was mold covered and was a true health hazard. You could smell the mold in the air when you walked thru the front doors. I wonder if the moisture/mold was partially caused to two holes in the front window probably caused by a BB gun that the server said they have been there for years . While we were there, some of the town water employees came in and they all had hamburgers. Probably would have been a better choice. On the positive side, the mashed potatoes and fried Okra were good. All in all, the server needs to be a lot more customer respectful, be more sensitive to customers desires like go ahead and make breakfast 5 minutes after 11, serve better food and most of all, get rid of the health hazards. Oh, and if you don 't happen to see the sign that says cash only , be more polite than saying go next door and use the ATM . We drive I-35 twice a year. We like stopping at Mom and Pop diners but will never stop here again.
