The batter was crispy and ta... read more I received a scrumptious small fish meal delivered today. It included plenty of chips, a large container of peas, and a soft drink. The batter was crispy and tasty, and the chips were a beautiful golden color. The portion size was generous and the meal was excellent value. It arrived right on schedule and was piping hot. The service was top-notch and the product was great!

Now they are rare and hard to fin... read more It has some of the characteristics of an old-fashioned fish and chip shop, which used to be common in Oldham where I was born. Now they are rare and hard to find. Many places these days treat you simply as a source of revenue, not as a valued customer. But this particular restaurant is different. You feel welcomed when you walk in. They have a limited menu, without trendy items like kebabs. They serve delicious haddock cooked to order. The staff even took the time to ask me and my son how much chips we wanted. One night when I was in a rush and soaking wet from the rain, they forgot to give me mushy peas with my order, but it wasn't a big deal. The menu suggests different sizes of curry sauce, but we were only given a large tub on all three visits - not a problem for us, we still enjoyed it. Like most fish and chip shops, the prices are not cheap. I remember as a young choirboy stopping by a local coal-fired chippy on my way home from practice - a small portion of chips only cost 2p back then, before inflation and wage increases changed everything. At 74 years old, I'm not too happy about how things have changed.

My large cod had... read more Like most people I'm more likely to post a complaint rather than praise, so it's only fair that I review tonight's delivery. It was brilliant! My large cod had the largest, flakiest, flakes of fish in a beautifully crisp batter; the chips were brown and crispy (a rarity these days); everything was hot, and delivery was swift. What more could you ask for? It's easy to dismiss a chippy as fast food but when it's as good as this there's not really a better meal.
