Riverside Heights

Me and my partner went for the first time yesterday and as soon as we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome by David who we now know runs the restaurant with his wife and a team great staff. The food was delicious and freshly made. It was relaxing and spotless and anyone who likes good home cooking at a reasonable price won't be disappointed. We will definitely be back. Darwen's best kept secret.

It is lovely going to this cafe because it is bright and cheerful and full of lots of residents with family or visitors. On a Friday we can thoroughly recommend the fish gougons, homemade chips and mushy peas.Always cheers us up meeting with all the Darweners/ Blackburn folk and the staff at the cafe. They do a good toastie or Jacket potato too if you want a lighter meal. Coffee and tea are good and not expensive. Anyone can visit, no need to have a relative or friend there ,just call in.

After reading Facebook reviews, I decided to visit this restaurant. It took some time to find, as I didn't realize it was located on the ground floor of the Riverside Heights care complex apartments. Once I found it, I was pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness and modern decor of the restaurant. I was greeted and served by a friendly staff member. The food was delicious, fresh, and homemade. The desserts were especially amazing and reasonably priced. I will definitely be returning soon.

English heartwarming food at its best: Limited choice but fantastic value for money in luxurious surroundings. Heartily recommend this secret little place tucked away at the back of Darwen. Although it's in the middle of over 55's bungalows, it's open to non residents and the welcome is worth it. Breakfast, snacks, lunch etc.

Visited the restaurant today with an elderly parent who will be residing in Riverside Heights soon. The pulled pork barm with salad, coleslaw and home made chips was lovely( I was allowed a sample in advance because I don’t like all BBQ sauces) It was just right for me and my husband.My elderly Mum in law had a very nice cheese and ham toastie with salad which she enjoyed. My Sister in law had a nice ham and cheese sandwich with salad and my Brother in law had very full prawn sandwiches with salad.We had a good cup of tea too. It was really enjoyable and fresh.The prices were very favourable and it was nice to have good straight forward food. We will be back soon.
