First I booked this hotel on Hotels .com and received the normal confirmation back from them.. Then I saw that if I booked directly with the hotel I could save... read more First I booked this hotel on Hotels .com and received the normal confirmation back from them.. Then I saw that if I booked directly with the hotel I could save Great. Tried to do that but received neither email or telephone confirmation from the...hotel. Finally called the hotel number provided but the individual who answered could not figure this out. But after a little but he stated that the hotel was booked out, explaining why I had not received any response. OK, went back to Hotels .com to make sure everything was still in place but low and behold they said there were several rooms still available. I then emailed the hotel about the situation and also said that since I tried to book with the hotel directly I would expect to receive the discount. Received an answer saying that would not happen. Dropped the matter. Following this exchange I left on my trip and did not have email service. When I arrive in Bitburg I had dinner, and the next day requested to speak with the manager. The waitress was snippy but finally produced him, Explained the situation and he replied that he had emailed me back saying I could stay there. Two problems. I never got this email when I was home. He still sent no confirmation data. What does , I can stay there mean Bottom line, he refused to give me the discount even though the in line website said I would get it if I booked there and they would call. They did not call and provided No formal assurance that I would have a room. It would have been much much easier to forget this place and just stay somewhere else. The food was good but not memorable. The manager was totally unrelenting about not giving me a discount which would have amounted to less than Euros. He found it more pleasant to give me a lot of lip. This was a bad experience and left a very bad taste in my mouth. He insisted his website page was clear but had it been I would have received some sort of email or telephone confirmation I had a room. I hope he is happy about reneging on his discount offer. I just warn others not to go through a similar experience as I did. It is certainly not worth it. I would never go there again.

It is located in the Pedestrian Zone, close t... read more I have been to Bitburg approximately times since and I always make it a point to dine at Restaurant Louis Mueller. It is located in the Pedestrian Zone, close to the old Bitburger Brewery. I usually eat in the bar area. My favorite...dish there is called Oma Kathe's Art and is a schnitzel style dish (maybe a bit thicker than a normal schnitzel) smothered with onions, mushrooms and bacon. That's right...BACON. It is outstanding and when accompanied by a house salad, fried potatoes and a large glass of Bitburger Pils, one easily finds nirvana. My wife ordered the goulasch and a salad and could not say enough about how good it was. She loves goulasch and will grade a restaurant solely on the flavor of that alone! If there is any criticism at all, it would be that they can be a bit slow keeping your beer glass filled and it tends to get pretty warm in the bar area. There is also outside seating during warmer weather and there is an actual dining room. These small things are not enough to deter me. I will continue to go there every time that I visit Bitburg and I whole-heartedly recommend that you visit this very nice restaurant.
