I loved this place..A walk back in time, very good food and, the waitress tried to get me to eat some of their specialty pastries but after an awesome omelet and incredible biscuits and gravy....I couldn't eat another bite... View all feedback.
What Steve Smith doesn't like about Kroll's Diner:
Hash Browns were hash whites , not browned at all, so I couldn 't eat them. Scrambled eggs weren 't scrambled, just cooked flat then folded over. The biscuit gravy were OK, no up to Southern standards, but OK. View all feedback.
Small portions, rubbery sausage and overcooked eggs all overpriced. You can do much better at home. There is a reason little cottage is always packed.
I order the steak and eggs, scrambled, with pancakes. The eggs were cold cold cold and not scrambled, rather was a yolk-y omlette type thing, folded over and quite greasy. The steak was gray in color and did not taste fresh. Pancakes are my favorite breakfast dish, and the main reason I wanted to try this place but was very dissatisfied. I am not a fan of syrup, but used some to try to make my pancakes not so dry. One side as borderline over-cooked, making them crispy in texture and contributed to the burnt taste of them. Having such an experience with 3 basic breakfast items, I am not interested in trying anything else from the menu. Left not feeling the best after only a few bites. The waitress was kind, and i didn't want to complain to her but I cannot see bringing myself let alone my family here again.
Food is good and so is most the staff. The retro diner atmosphere is very played out, but it 's their thing .
As always the service was great, the waitress very nice and the food is truly great
