First time at Jack's stopping by for breakfast on the way to Mammoth. Very friendly service and great breakfast. Great value. Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Good atmosphere inside. Staff was friendly, polite and attentive. We tried several house specialties: Mule Skinner, Jack's Original Sierra Sandwich, Corned Beef Hash with biscuits and gravy as well as the French Toast and Chicken Strips. Mule Skinner: Pretty good, could've had a little more flavor. Corned Beef Hash: Tastes like real meat, retains it's texture, flavorful and not salty. Hashbrowns were a little too crispy, almost burnt. The biscuits and gravy was good, flavorful and the biscuit was perfect and fluffy. Jack's Original Sierra Sandwich was good too. Got the chicken option. The ranch with the fries was great. The chicken strips were so good. Not too bready, not too crisp. It was perfect. The French toast was okay, should've ordered the Cinnamon French Toast
This restaurant is a small time capsule with various eras of Life in Bishop, displayed on the walls. Truly a slice of Americana. Whether you 've been visiting the area for decades or a 'first-timer ', you won 't be disappointed! Staff is personable, attentive and friendly. The food is simply good, home style, flavorful hot food and piping hot, smooth coffee. They currently close at 2pm. I 'm not sure if this is a new-normal or due to the end of fishing season while not quite time for skiing season.
