Although I didn't stay overnight, the resort is conveniently located along the road to Lake Sabrine. The service at the local shop was friendly, but unfortunately, the restaurant was closed during my visit.
If I could give them more, I would. We have come here for years. I work in emergency management and just returned from the Maui mission. on the way up for labor day weekend, i was informed I needed to attend an emergency meeting regarding counties that had been affected from the hurricane as many people have lost everything. I told them my situation and that I needed internet to tap into the meeting. they graciously hooked me up and allowed me to sit inside their restaurant (which was closed at the time) and meet with local, county, and state officials. thank you for supporting our communities. You have and continue to be a blessing to the community.
Our family doesn't stay overnight at Cardinal Village; we usually visit for part of the day. We like to have lunch there and listen to the band on Sundays. We enjoy hanging out and playing games like bean bag toss. The property features a lovely pond, making it a wonderful spot to relax and take in the beautiful scenery.
The pizza here is excellent! From my one visit, I recommend making a reservation to ensure you get a table, as it was quite busy. The restaurant has a charming, tucked-away vibe with a lovely tropical ambiance, complete with a small creek running through the area.
I was there in June, and I noticed that the main road immediately after Cardinal was still closed due to heavy snowfall from the previous winter. After parking at the resort, I picked up a few souvenirs from the store, where a friendly staff member was more than happy to answer my questions about the area. I then took a leisurely stroll to soak in the surroundings. One of my favorite moments was spotting the Stellar's jays and adorable little partridges darting across the road so quickly that they seemed to have four legs instead of two, with their little heads bobbing up and down. The aspens were absolutely beautiful, and the pool, fed by icy snowmelt, was pristine and made for perfect reflection photos. As I made my way through the small subdivision of houses up there, I was thrilled to see a group of 8-10 mule deer confidently crossing the road and heading into the woods. I was able to capture some clear photos of them. I wandered around Cardinal Village and, although I haven't stayed in the vacation cabins, I found them to be very cozy and clean. Friendly people greeted me from their porches, and there were dogs roaming about. Little bridges crossed over picturesque, crystal-clear streams. I even took a peek into the window of an empty cabin and thought it would be a lovely place to stay in the future. My aunt mentioned that she and my uncle had stayed there with her daughter and her new husband during a wedding party about two years ago, and they had a wonderful time. I enjoyed my experience so much that I ended up returning to Cardinal a week later. It's a delightful little spot!
