Was Anonym at Kellys a mag?
Really nice spot, gorgeous food and friendly staff. Nice atmosphere too and good value, kids meals very generous. Highly recommend after being at Birr Castle it's only a stones throw away! View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Kellys:
very deceptive, from the outside it looks tiny, but when they go into the place is huge. the staff are all very friendly attentive. we had dinner here on Sunday evening was beautiful, decent portions good prices. I would highly recommend the baked hake with saffron sauce, absolutely delicious. we will definitely visit again. View all feedback.

Great place for food and a drink. Never disappointed
Great bar, staff are fantastic and Sam's kitchen produces some of the best meals on offer
Very cortous staff, very welcoming and cosy, just makes you feel at home
We stopped by the castle last week, but the real diamond was Kelly's Pub. The Guinness was top notch and Mr Kelly was pouring it himself. Had the Stew, and it was awesome. It was one of my favorite stops on our Ireland tour. Highly recommend.
Excellent food drink... I had a vegan lasagne for lunch Extremely friendly and highly recommended!
Kelly's Bar in Birr is a charming, family-run establishment that offers delicious food and great service. Despite some long waits, the experience is overall positive, with friendly staff, tasty meals, and an inviting atmosphere. The pub is conveniently located near Birr Castle and town, making it a perfect stop for visitors. Customers recommend dishes like the baked hake and roast, as well as the cocktails. The hospitality of the staff, including owners John, Gail, Eve, and Owen, adds to the warm and welcoming vibe of the pub. Kelly's Bar is a must-visit for a fun night out in Birr.

Our bus tour stopped at Birr Castle and they gave us time to walk the short distance in to town for lunch. Kellys is a fine Irish pub. We had a beer, heard live music, had friendly service by Pamela, ate Irish food, talked to the locals, everything you are looking for. The NFL and Red Sox jerseys on the walls were a surprise. My with had the soup and the chicken puff pastry dish, both pretty good. I had the prawn cocktail. I pictured shrimp cocktail with huge prawns, my mistake. It was tiny salad shrimp in a mayonnaise based sauce over lettuce. It was okay, just not what I envisioned. We then took a little stroll around Birr before heading back to the bus.
Had a fantastic time there for John and Dawn's wedding after party on Thursday the gaffer and staff could wear brilliant food amazing would recommend to anyone .
Very disappointing waited 45 minutes for food and when the food arrived the steak was dry and the chips were burnt. Advise: don’t go here !!!!
Catherine, the bar maid, was absolutely lovely. She was so warm, welcoming, and attentive. She spent lots of time chatting with my husband, dad, step mom, and aunt. She gave us food recommendations, told us the history of Birr, and shared the best times to come back and visit for festivals if we wanted. We loved the bar, the environment, and how quickly we made a new friend. Would absolutely recommend. Great experience!
The food was delicious served by very friendly staff ,great ambience, cocktails were devine would definitely recommend here for a fun night out ,the owner made us feel very welcome,we will go again

Had the tastiest roast at Kelly’s bar today in Birr Staff very friendly. Would recommend anyone to call in to this wonderful bar and have a meal and spend sometime with the lovely staff
Cannot fault this place, great breakfast and dinner every time and the staff are just amazing! First place I go to any time I go to Birr, not to be missed !
Kellys of the green is the same league as 'see Naples and die '. Great pint, excellent service and the banter/chat is top notch.
Had a blast in Kelly’s pub, John was so welcoming and friendly. Definitely the place to go in Birr!!
John, Gail, Eve and Owen made our trip special with their warm hospitality and generosity! We enjoyed great conversations with the staff and also with the other patrons. We were serenaded by the John and Gene duo. One evening to our surprise, we enjoyed some of the best traditional Irish music played by over a dozen musicians of all ages! Gail gave us some Guinness glasses (maybe because I tell everyone that Kelly's serves the absolute best tasting Guinness! Well I am back in the states now and the Guinness sure is not the same! She also makes some delicious sandwiches which appeared on more than one occasion along with some sausages and chips. What a nice treat for the bar patrons.
