Pushkar - Birmingham
Pushkar
Description
Step inside Pushkar and leave ordinary behind. This Broad Street destination marries refined Indian tradition with modern flair: silky kormas and robust masalas sit alongside playful, chef-driven desserts and a cocktail list that reads like a discovery menu. The dining room is stylish without pretense—perfect for birthdays, dates or a special night out—while vegetarian and seafood plates get the same loving attention as the lamb and duck signatures. Come for the flavours, stay for the theatre of the bar and the desserts that people still talk about on the way home.

Feedback
Reviews praise Pushkar’s flavours, creative desserts and cocktails; notes: excellent vegetarian options and service, but busy, noisy weekends and a limited wine list.
Elevated Indian food. Loved the tandoori tofu! The vegetable korma, saag paneer and lamb shank were all excellent and the mushroom rice was a perfect accompaniment. Rocky was our server and was excellent. I was a bit miffed that they didn't have any Rieslings or wines that pair well with Indian Food. We have Rose Champagne good but surprised at the lack of wines that are notorious for working well with Indian food.
I recently had a great evening at Pushkar. Broadstreet isn't exactly the classiest location but once inside you completely forget the clubbers outside. The decor is very sophisticated and has a modern feel to it, and the service from start to finish was fantastic. They have a great selection of cocktails, including classics as well as some brilliant signature cocktails such as the white chocolate martini. The menu is also helpfully divided so that you can go straight to your kind of cocktail. The staff were also great at re filling our water on the table and making sure we had everything we needed, yet they were never too instrusive and generally left us to enjoy our evening. To start we had the vegetarian platter for two, which included beautiful tandoori paneer and onion and spinach bajis, and every mouthful was a treat. The presentation was also great, making it feel a cut above your average Indian restaurant. Our vegetarian mains also went down extremely well I had the saag paneer I've had a lot of saag paneer in my life and this one was a winner! Overall we were really impressed with Pushkar. The food was all delicious, the portions generous and the cocktails were really on point. It's a great option if you're not wanting somewhere ridiculously fancy, but you still want to go out somewhere a little bit special. Expect to pay a bit more than your average Indian restaurant, but the experience you have really reflects the higher price point, and in my opinion it's definitely worth it!

More information
Pushkar sits on Broad Street’s entertainment strip, and many diners combine an evening here with nearby theatres and hotels — it’s common to see guests step out to nearby venues between courses. The team treats desserts as a signature chapter of the meal, often pairing house-made ice-creams with unexpected sweets, so save some room and ask the staff what dessert pairing they recommend that night.
