My co-worker and I were talking about this place before he dropped me off at the airport and luckily my flight was delayed so I had the chance to try it. This was the airport location, so maybe the real restaurant locations are better. Decor-it's in airport, so not much they could really do to customize. Service-the girls were good. They worked hard, hustled to get me what I needed, and even added some quirky humor.... View all feedback.
What Chip C doesn't like about Jim 'n Nick 's -b-q:
Located inside the Birmingham airport, this is a great place for those wanting to stop and grab some food before their flight. They offer the full menu of a normal Jim N Nick's. Depending upon how busy they are, service can be lacking. I didn't get any cheese biscuits, and had to ask for a drink refill. They did offer me one to go, which was great since my flight was delayed. All told, the food was great, but your mi... View all feedback.
Speed to serve 2 stars (hope you have plenty of time) Location and comfort 3 Stars Friendliness of waitress 3 Stars Attentiveness of waitress 2.5 stars Taste of food (brisket) 2.5 stars Not many options at this airport. Just set expectations accordingly and be sure you have plenty of time!
When in the Birmingham airport on a Sunday, where can you eat?!? One of the only restaurants open.... (tear, CFA). My boss and I had a little bit of time to kill before boarding our flight, so we stopped by and ate in for lunch. Our waitress was not observant and seemed very distracted the entire time. She ordered sweet tea; I ordered Un-sweet. She brought the glasses to the table and said she could remember which was which and asked us to try them out. Uhhhhh... Both of ordered salads... and 10 minutes later she brought our two platters of meat and veggies for both of, places them on our table and walked away. We had to chase her down to tell her that's not what we ordered!! We eventually got our correct order, but I was really unimpressed. Probably won't stop here again (hello processed, packaged foods)!

Pulled pork was a bit bland for me and needed more bbq sauce. Mac n cheese was really dry and fries were a bit oily and soggy. Banana pudding was too sweet and I really didn't like it. I'll have to give a restaurant outside an airport a try to really give them a true assessment.
This was a tough one after all since it's in an airport which is a **** shoot in of itself. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. I ordered the entree and picked brisket and pulled pork with fresh fruit and cole slaw. I smoke my own brisket and pulled pork regularly but I do my best not to compare others to mine. If you really like bbq... don't come here as it will not be a good experience. The food was barely warm. The brisket wasn't sliced well, was covered with a spicy sauce which wasn't that bad... and pickles. There really wasn't any bark. Pulled pork wasn't really pulled as much as it was torn... same sauce and pickles. I didn't recognize it as pulled pork. The coleslaw was pretty fair and the fruit was decent. If you are really hungry and looking for something besides burgers then try it. You're in an airport so it's not like there is a smoke pit out back. That's why I wouldn't do a bbq restaurant in an airport. You can't do real bbq, fresh and juicy if you are more than 50 feet from the s
Great food, terrible service. 5 weeks in and out of BHM. Same everytime. I usually have 1.5 hrs before my flight. Not enough time to get service here. They seat you- you wait 7-10 mins for someone to take your order. Food takes a long tine to arrive regardless of capacity. Can never get your tab. Servers are inefficient at running food and tabs in an organized fashion. This time: Hostess handed me a menu and told me to have a seat at the end of the side-bar. The previous occupants food had not been cleared. I waited 5mins. Watched a server rolling silverware. Hostess did nothing. I asked the employee to clear the setting and was told yeah, I know, but if you don 't have a lot of time I wouldn 't sit down . She continued to roll silverware I handed the menu back to the hostess and told her the server wouldn 't clear the spot. She just looked blankly at me. I went to the to-go window... the gentleman 's here was helpful, but was pulled away from window to run orders to main dining area. So my food and other patrons were left staring at their food dying in the window. This is tasty food- but the service is so awful inefficient. No one seems to care about timely service in an airport, or service at all for that matter. The first time here I ordered an old fashioned (speciality beverage on the menu) see attached pic for what I got (asked the bartender if he was new, he said nope). #not
