The Original Full Moon. This is the original Full Moon BBQ restaurant and I have loved it most of my life. I grew up working next door in the summer and ate here everyday! This is the best location in my opinion, started by Pat James and carried on by David and Joe. Great people and great BBQ! View all feedback.

I called a final order on the way to work. the gentleman who took my order was very friendly. I'm coming to pick up my order. the lady at the front was fast, friendly helpful and most food was great. they could not ask for more! the best customer service I've seen for a long time!
Authentic bbq ya’ll. when they go out of their car and smell the smoke on the road, they know that it will be a good meal. there are some FullMoon’s around the opposite, but I wanted to eat at the original location. I went south to 65 and it took a little longer to get to the location, but it was worth it. it is a small place with approx. 30 seats, the walls are with autographed sports pictures of athlete I suspect have eaten there. we arrived at 3:30 a.m. and the half of the place was filled, but it took only a few minutes to use. I had the ribbed plate with coleslaw and mac n cheese. the koleslaw was certainly unique. it was not a mayonnaise based shiny it seemed to have a mix of relish and seasoned. much different from what I'm used to, but it was really good. the mac and the cheese flattered homemade. I wish I had tried her kartoffel salad because he looked good. the reserve ribs had a good smoke ring, but had no big smoke taste. that which my wife had was very delicate and tasteful. I guess it's their tradition to mix the top of the meat with sauce, but it works because the sauce had a good taste. they also have a spicy chow chow that is super tasteful. below the line, next time I come thru birmingham, I will stop again. it was great.
Good food, better than average service for a place where you stand in line. Full Moon is great BBQ, the only reason I didn 't give them 5 stars was price. $11.50 for a large BBQ sandwich and fries (drink not included). I asked why they didn 't have a BBQ sandwich combo meal (BBQ, fries and a drink) and the lady looked at me like I had three heads and said we don 't do it that way . They have other combo meals, it would be a lot more convenient if they had what should be the most common thing ordered available as say The Number 1 Combo, please . And maybe make it a buck cheaper at the same time. My favorite BBQ place is called Wallace 's BBQ over in Georgia. They havev a thrift plate consisting of a BBQ sandwich, fries, slaw and a drink for $8. Pig doesn 't cost less in Georgia. PS Wallace 's BBQ is the best tasting ever but if you 're in the B 'ham area, Full Moon is the place.
Original full moon location! Really great BBQ definitely a family favorite. Your lunch is great with good page options. We like family meals, the same great food and a great value to feed the family. I wanted to list my favorites, but realized it included 3/4 of the menu. Very recommended!
Every TIME we go to this place is not a DISAPPOINTMENT! The friend green are wonderful. I get them every chance I get. Turkey is juicy and well seasoned. The pages remind me of my grandmother's kitchen. The chicken and the ribs were tender and fall from the bones. Will go back. Everyone is sooo friendly. You feel like you're picking up a plate on the cooktop. Price, depending on what you order. That's why we always come back.

I've been to Full Moon a few times and enjoyed it every time! Their sauce is good. I've had the outside sliced pork, the chicken, and the ribs and everything was good. I really like the chow chow that comes with your meal. A good place to get bbq if you are in Birmingham. Prices are reasonable and it's easy to find. Get within a mile and smell your way there.
Love this place. I do not like Alabama BBQ and have said that locals in Birmingham do not know what good BBQ is but Full Moon is really good BBQ. The sides are great, everything about it. I highly recommend it. This location is great for local flavor, the restaurant is tiny so get here early. Fun atmosphere and great food.

Best BBQ Outside Sliced. I love their outside sliced bbq. The only thing I would change is to fire that mean woman at the counter.
I believe this is the original Full Moon, and I've had equal experiences at the others. I love their smoked turkey it has their BBQ sauce and it it really unique. The slaw is of a sweet vinegary variety and the pork sandwiches SING with alittle slaw on the sandwich! The sauce is great and the pork is great, but I love that turkey. No trip to FMBBQ is complete without the Full Moon choclate chip cookies that dripped in milk chocolate. They come in bags, so depending on the size of your party, get the large bag! FMBBQ is a unique Bham original try it soon.
