After reading some of the reviews in this restaurant, I had reservations while visiting, but we wanted somewhere near our hotel (the Romerhof) so decided to go... read more After reading some of the reviews in this restaurant, I had reservations while visiting, but we wanted somewhere near our hotel (the Romerhof) so decided to go there, and I must admit that we were pleasantly surprised. The food (and wine) was very good and very cheap, and the service was friendly and attentive. I don't have any concerns to eat there again.

In my final night after I finished packing for my return trip I didn't want to wander too much looking for a meal, so I decided to finally give this place a try. I hadn't even looked at the menu posted outside because from all appearances it was an Italian restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they still offered many German dishes at moderate prices. I had a wonderful ziguenerschnitzel with bratkartoffeln (schnitzel covered with sweet peppers/onions and fried potatoes) and a couple of glasses of a very tasty spatlese (a moderately sweet German white wine). The service was good and the food was as good as any I had in the other places I had eaten which served German food only. The portions were huge and I found myself wishing I had tried it sooner. If/when I return to the Bingen area, I will definitely revisit this establishment.

The only p... read more We had dinner for 6 people at Classico and it was very pleasant. The staff was nice, the pace was good and the price-performance ratio was excellent. The only problem for me was that food was very salty, especially the salmon soup, which was almost painful about salt.
