The honey coated croissant was very nice and I felt the prices were affordable, at least compared to Ireland. The waitress who served me the coffee was not friendly but she was very efficient which was impressive. There was another waitress cleaning the tables who was very nice. It was a fine place to wait for the bus and take a break. The outdoor seating was nice

After enjoying the funicular ride, we found this very close by, and went in. The pizzas we ordered were delicious, lots of cheese and toppings, a real pizza crust, and we well enjoyed by mw wife and I.
Says outside that the kitchen open all day having just arrived after 4pm to stay nearby was looking for a v.late lunch. Very good value friendly staff. Noisy busy inside. Appears popular with locals. Limited veggie options for our daughter. Very long wait for everything basic, underwhelming fare. The lasagne sent back to be heated up as tepid on serving. But if you want a filling menu inc bread drinks for only 11€ ain’t too fussed about fine cuisine this would do as portions were generous.
This is a very typical Spanish restaurant serving locals as well as tourists. The menu del dia is very good value and the portions are large, but the food quality is only so-so. The battered food we ordered was quite greasy, and the salmon was very overcooked. Service outside was a little slow: we ordered chicken as one of our main courses (from the menu del dia) and quite a while after we'd had our starters the waiter came back to say the chicken had run out. Overall it's fine for lunch but don't expect haute cuisine.
Mandobide is on corner of Plaza Funicular, good basic food, two courses, bread, water and coffee for 10 Euros. First course chicken nuggets and garlic tomatoes, second course chorizo, black pudding, two eggs, fritters and garlic tomatoes, coffee excellent.
This café, across the street from our apartment in Castaños, was our go-to place for café con leche, every morning. Although we didn't try the food, clearly the locals loved it and it looked very good. What we loved about the place was how courteous and accommodating the staff were. We took coffee to go and plastic cups for the first two days but then they ran out and trusting us with their glass cups. A good spot to go before or after the funicular.

Quality product. excellent cuisine and Cortez treatment. extraordinary salads. a place to repeat once and a thousand times
We spent a few days in bilbao and found this breakfast bar. have a very cozy terrace, in a square where there is a good atmosphere of all ages. the tortilla was good; the coffee too. But without a doubt, what we could highlight is the staff. We were treated by a gentleman at a bar who was very kind to us. That's why we repeated every morning the days we were there. We say goodbye to this good man even with melancholy. You could say that as soon as we get back, we have to visit this place.
