Terrible experience. Could not dine due to staff (and owner/manager? giving wrong and conflicting information about times and reservations. And when confronted about it they just don't care.

I actually googled the best place to watch the football Bilbao and this was recommended. I am a big fan of Bavarian beer and food and this place did not disappoint. Their Haxe was massive and coudl feed 2 people. I would recommend.

We went inside because we love soccer and the restaurant was full of memorabilia of all the various European soccer teams. Sat at the bar and order there recommended beer along with a plate of Bratwurst. Very good and the ambiance is full of locals from Bilbao which is what we like to see. It was a nice surprise to see this type of place, very friendly staff.

I decided to try something a little different after having tasted numerous pintxos the two evenings prior, so I went with something difficult to find in Portugal where I live. German food .... HOOAH! Ein Prosit looked to be the more authentic of the three I could find and I planned on being in that area around lunchtime anyway, so I stepped through the doors of what reminded me somewhat of places I have been in Germany. Quite a few folks were enjoying authentic German beers and I settled on a tasty, very dark dopplebock €5.50 for a large glass). A large, warm, crusty and yummy bread roll came along with my beer, but, alas, there was not a pat of butter in sight, much to my chagrin. I had not had a decent schnitzel in quite a while, so I ordered the Jägerschnitzel €11.90 Schnitzel with Mushroom Gravy). I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived with a creamy sauce instead of the usual brown gravy, being more reminiscent of a Rahmschnitzel than a Jägerschnitzel. The schnitzel was good size and the pork was very tender, but I could have used a bit more sauce and fried potatoes or spätzle than french fries. The small salad also on the plate was very fresh and tasty. My meal was a good value overall, coming in at €17.20, including the beer and schnitzel plate. The staff were also very friendly and efficient, so I can highly recommend Ein Prosit for a change of pace when visiting downtown Bilbao. CombatCritic Gives Ein Prosit 7 Bombs Out Of 10 ... This German bar is great. Firstly it is football themed but you don't have to love football to drink here. Seems loads of locals come here. There is no terrasse but everyone just takes their drinks onto the street anyway, to enjoy the hot sunny weather. For football fans hoping to catch the game, no problem. Big screen tv in one corner high up; so doesn't matter where you are, you will not miss a thing. Another smaller tv is at the back. They do food and pintxos too. Bratwurst goes well with the German beers they serve. Friendly atmosphere and not posh but just a normal bar. Not far from the main shopping street grand via. Definitely recommend it. A pint is just over 3€.
