It is basic and local , great prices and good pin... read more This was the first bar we went into on our very first visit to Bilbao in 2015 , we have Ben coming here since. It is basic and local , great prices and good pinxtos . You can also have good simple main courses here too. The best bit was that the very friendly barman Manu remembered us and was genuinely pleased to see us (our last visit was Oct 2018 . We will be back!

Later that night on the way back from the Old Town we called in for a night cap.So glad we did, the staff were helpful and we had a good laugh with them. We struggled a bit with their pronunciations, but it's amazing how you can get by with a Google App. The place is quiet small inside and has a pretty standard layout. Bar stools for the Pintxos, 8 or so tables for diners and outside there were more tables and chairs. They always had a good specials offer, Cod in a beautiful sauce ,Sirloin for 10 Euros all well cooked and presented. Whilst we did a lot of sight seeing, we always returned to the Alisas for our meals and drinks. The location is perfect, it's on the river and about 10 minutes walk from the Old Town.I wouldn't describe it as upmarket, more like pub grub if I'm honest ,but this is reflected in the price you pay. We enjoyed it and the next time we are in Bilbao we would certainly return.
