Max's Market - BIGFORK

I highly recommend this spot! It was a chill atmosphere and great food. Relatively family friendly, too.

They are fully vegan/plant-based as of June 2024. They used to have eggs and some non-vegan cheeses but now are fully vegan. I got the Lentil Chorizo breakfast burrito and it was great, although I would recommend adding cheese or a sauce to it to make it more flavorful and balanced. I applaud Max’s for going all plant based and grateful for their commitment. Restaurant has a homey, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, with picnic tables out front. Counter order and they bring the food to you and then you bus your table. We ordered the chili special, panzanella salad and the chickpea Caesar salad. I was looking forward to a salad, VS a wrap or sandwich and was disappointed in the Caesar salad. To me, it was more like a crouton salad with greens on top. Dressing was good. I was just wanting and expecting a hearty Caesar salad with a few croutons. Chili was good. Mild flavors. Panzanella had the same croutons as the Caesar with bright cherry tomatoes and red onions. Dressing had nice acidity. Overall it was good and I would go back, requesting more greens, please!

I am SO grateful this little gem is in Bigfork! They seriously have so many of my fav items and brands like Miyokos, Back to Nature, Oatly and Sweet Earth to name a few that come to mind...oh, and the Beyond sausage patties, which I discovered at this store! They’ve also got locally made items (vegan cheese and Kombucha) to get your local vibe on! Their fresh produce is beautiful. They sell vegan take and bakes made right around the block. Everything is vegan here, except one item that has egg (that you can order without the egg! The new menu is full of delicious options, try the crispy tofu wrap!
