Trail's Grill Sports - Big Lake

I was at the bar for a drink or two with my husband and decided to order one of their wraps. I ordered the chicken bacon ranch wrap, and honestly it was heaven!!! The food at this place is amazing! Every time I've come the staff has been great, and myfood to die for. The prices have taken kind of a scary hike.....but that's happened everywhere with things the way they are. Andeven though things are costing more than ever for everything. If you can still get a night out every now and then, this place isa great pick!!!

Could be 5 stars except the bartender whose lips failed to move when we talked to him!... And didn't know how to smile or acknowledge his customers. Sad. Great food though...will give another try!

I just waited for 50 minutes at Trails for our food, despite there being only one other table already eating. When I inquired about our order, the server informed me that the kitchen had lost our ticket, suggesting we could leave if we wanted. Honestly, I think the server misplaced it—I've always found the kitchen staff to be excellent! To make matters worse, the server then insisted we had to pay for our drinks before we could leave. I’m really disappointed and don’t plan on returning.

My family and I visited for breakfast in mid-August, and we typically enjoy excellent food there. We drive 15 minutes to get to Trails because we believed it had the best dining options in the area. I've even left multiple 5-star reviews in the past. However, I can honestly say that the recent meal I had was one of the worst I've ever experienced. I ordered the steak and eggs; the steak was slimy, grey, and smelled terrible. After a hesitant taste, which I immediately regretted, I asked the waitress for a replacement. To my surprise, she told me that both she and another server agreed that it didn’t look right. If that’s the case, food should not be served at all! I have reported this situation to the Minnesota Department of Health, as I am convinced I would have fallen ill had I eaten the steak. The cook’s response was to shrug it off, saying, "don't blame me, I just cook the food." What a disappointing reply. The server mentioned there was a new kitchen manager and a new food supplier, citing supply chain issues from the pandemic as further excuses. It seemed like everyone else was to blame except for the kitchen itself. When I asked for a different steak, I was told there were no alternatives available, so I was offered the option to just pay for the eggs and potatoes instead. To add to the disappointment, the breakfast potatoes had been changed and were completely bland, the eggs were lackluster, and the toast was made from store-bought bread. No one offered to comp the meal or provide any compensation for our troubles. I even requested that a manager come speak with us, but no one ever did. Trails used to be the best dining option in the Becker/Big Lake/Monticello area, and we truly wanted to continue our visits, which is why I attempted to reach out for four months. Sadly, we will not be returning. I urge you to think twice before visiting Trails in the future.

This restaurant is fantastic! The food is delicious, and the service provided by Lily was exceptional. I definitely plan to return!
