Description

This unpretentious Maine seafood spot serves standout lobster deals, hand-cut fries and classic combos that draw locals and tourists alike. Diners praise fresh, flavorful clams, scallops and haddock, but experiences vary: service can be friendly and prompt or distracted and inattentive, and portions or preparation are sometimes inconsistent or greasy. Small, clean and quaint, it’s a budget-friendly, casual alternative for seafood lovers willing to overlook occasional service lapses.

To say we were disappointed was an understatement. We ordered for Father’s Day We ordered seafood sampler or seafood platter with 4 picks Whole belly clams shrimp haddock scallopsSoooo we only received one maybe two bellies all the rest were strips. Shrimp were tasteless Scallops okay Haddock marginalI had fish and chip fries hardly cooked and fish was just okay My grandson had a cheeseburger that was tasteless I’m sorry but I need to let the public know I ate there once before two years ago and it was better than this Sorry docks you didn’t make the cut

Excellent value and good food. Outdoor seating is available. Seafood chowder was oversalted. I will be back to make sure that was just a fluke.Retried 8/22/20 the seafood chowder was amazing! First visit WAS a fluke!

Seriously the best seafood in the Biddeford/Saco area. And the hand cut french fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings are incredible. We have tried almost everything there now. The only item I wasn't find of was the crab cakes however, I am very particular about my crab cakes. I highly recommend this restaurant. It's a fantastic alternative to replace Skippers since they closed. Honestly, I would have switched to Dock's even if Skippers was still open it's that good.

It was a Saturday in mid-November. We were on our way back to NY (suburb of NYC) from Down East. We had made the obligatory stop at LLBean in Freeport, and were en route again. And it was lunchtime. My daughter searched for someplace that seemed good on her iPhone and found Docks Boathouse. It was our lucky day!Fancy? No. Delicious? Yes. Friendly? Accommodating? You betcha. We were a party of four: three adults and our 15-year old grandson. The three adults had the whole fried clams. Our grandson had a lobster roll. Were the clams good? WOW were they good. Juicy. Tender. Nicely and thinly breaded. Perfect. They were far superior to fried clams we had a couple of days earlier in Ellsworth, and were less than half the price of what the Ellsworth clams cost. Our grandson refused to say whether his lobster roll was better than an earlier on he 'd had in Portland; he commented, "It disappeared just as fast. "The only problem with Docks Boathouse is that it 's 270 miles from home, otherwise we 'd be regulars. It was a perfect lunch.Highly recommended!
