The food is essential... read more La Vite is our favourite restaurant in the Casentino Valley. We visit often and we are never bored with the menu as it frequently changes. The food is essentially Tuscan but with a refreshing twist which sets it apart from the other restaurants that server the same-old. When you live here permanently, like I do, it is great to find a restaurant that is not afraid to try something different. Hats off to Barbara who is always friendly and accommodating as front of house, and her husband Cesare who slaves in the kitchen to whip up something delicious every time.

We enjoyed the wine recommendation and the interesting food--perhaps a little oversalted in some cases, but great interpretations of classic Tuscan cuisine, sometimes with a little twist to modernize. Don't miss the wild boar stew! The service was incredibly gracious and responsive despite the crowd--we had a nice chat with our waitress on our way and she was very welcoming and kind. A great dinner in a very sweet Italian town we otherwise would not have seen!

They could not have been more accommodating, especially as we had children in our group. The food was absolutely delicious, I especially recommend the ravioli.
