A fullish satisfying Friday morning brunch .. dropping down from bus n waiting for the hotel check in , decided upon this only after illiterati was found to b closed .. A tiny place serving minimal of items ,made me fell in love with it .. situated on jogiwara road , just next to posh hotel , having a few tables both in d outside by the road n inside ... Serves the famous spinach omellete , though pricey @200 but what separates it apart is d exclusivity n fluffy nature of it , with green mashed spinach on the inside served with 4 slices of bread ... How u wish , the bread could have been toasted in butter !!!! Do savour Ur buds with the tea pot which serves 2.5 cups of brewing tea , perfect for the coldie environment outside ...served with a tiny steel sieve n separate sugar .. Do try the carrot halwa , though was a day old. . but still felt so heavenly especially vwitg a creamy layer on the top ... No e-wallets accepted though I could see a paytm tag !!!!..
For starters, it's Budan, not Buddhan. Also, it is NOT vegetarian. I loved my Tuna Sandwich and lemongrass tea. The furniture is pretty unusual and what attracted me to this joint was a chalk and board hoarding. I suppose they also have daily specials which the manager presumably writes, rather artistically on a blackboard (again) for display. And the changing names sure sound nice!
The coffee at this restaurant is even better than what you can find in Sydney. The spinach cheese omelette is light, fluffy, and incredibly tasty. Alternatively, the fruit salad with yogurt and honey is also a delicious choice. The staff is delightful and there is even a friendly dog to keep you company. If you're in McLeod Ganj, you definitely need to give this place a try.
Best coffee I've had in India and the breakfast is delicious. Try the spinach and cheese omlette. Really friendly staff as well.
I visited Cafe Budan in July-August and the food was amazing! I ordered the Nicosie omelette which was delicious. I also tried the chamomile tea and hibiscus tea, both made with real flowers and were excellent. I highly recommend visiting this cafe if you are in Macleodganj, it is located on Jogiwara road. The ambiance is cozy and the manager, Vinod, is very nice and helpful.
