Was Namita K at Babel Cafe a mag?
Babel cafe was a short walk down from our Airbnb. We came here for dinner after seeing all the good reviews. The place is located on the inside lane so a bit away from the bustle but prices didn’t seem as reasonable. 2 beers, a coke, one appetiser and one main course set us back by almost 700 TRL (including service charge levied by the cafe, Aug’23). The server suggested a dish for us. It was amazing! Sample of each meat and seafood spicy sauces hummus naan everything we love. Even had nice wine and beer! So much food we couldn't finish it
Landed in Istanbul and headed to this place after check-in on a hot summer night. It was almost closing time, but the guy there was super nice and friendly and said it was still ok to order food. I ordered a Babel Special from the menu, amazingly tasty and with a side of well seasoned salad. The place was also a whole vibe with some super interesting music playing in the background. I had the best time here and will definitely go back for more during my time here in Istanbul (probably for breakfast and coffee).
The Turkish food at this restaurant is fantastic and authentic. We visited twice in 5 days and can confidently say it's the best we've ever had. There are also plenty of vegetarian options available. A must-visit!
Super delicious food and really prompt service. We ordered a couple mezes to share, which were both very good. The plates were fairly-priced and tasted fresh. Overall, a great experience!
The food at this restaurant is excellent. It offers a unique variety that is a nice change from the usual fare found in Istanbul. Both dishes had a distinct flavor that I would highly recommend. The bread is exceptionally soft and complements the lentil soup well. The interior decorations are also very pleasing.

Owners and waiters were very friendly! we had breakfast there, which was really nice and the owner came to chat with us. we will be a beer in the evening!
It was great. had the mezze and chiseled lamb. staff and owners are super friendly. it seems to attract many tourist. all positive reviews are accurate.
Very beautiful world music, a lot of craftsmen, delicious food (has the meze mix for two) and attentive and eloquent waiter. cozy atmosphere, good selection of cocktails, good choice of vegan dishes. a fairly unusual bar, caffe, restaurant for istanbul and a all-round worth!
During my stay in truthahn I went here twice, first was by sheer coincidence, second time by because I had to eat breakfast again. the waiter was very friendly, the music relaxing, and even the owner came to check if everything is in order. if they ever come, they have the breakfast, they will not regret it.
Amazing service! And the food is so so good!!! Highly recommended and worth the walk back up to the Main Street! Order the mezze platter to get a taste of everything. And the kebab... OMG! Perfect hot comfort food! Beer is also super cold! Instagram @iambruisedlee
