Reviews summary

Traders, set within a hotel and conference center, struggles to deliver a consistent dining experience. While some patrons enjoyed decent steaks at a discounted price, many others were disappointed by subpar food quality and inattentive service. Complaints included cold temperatures, missing components from meals, and unappetizing desserts. Overly garlicky soup and lackluster portions garnered negative feedback, leaving diners feeling that the establishment lacked festive spirit and atmosphere. Although a warm greeting from staff brightened some visits, the general consensus is that, without discounts, the meal doesn't justify the price, making it unlikely for many to return.

What Ceejayblue dislikes about Traders:

If we hadn't have had a discount card for this place would've been even more disappointed. Just because it is a hotel/conference centre doesn't mean the service and food should not be good. The air conditioning was really cold and the waitress coudln't turn it down, we had about 3 different waitresses all asking if we'd enjoyed the meal we hadn't! Won't go back, no atmosphere and not good value. View all feedback.

Although it’s a hotel restaurant the food is good and the service excellent. It’s always fresh and hot with plenty of choice and fair sized portions.

The food was pleasant enough but somehow I felt I was in the way. The staff were getting the restaurant ready for breakfast the next day. Okay the time was getting on but I was assured that it was still open and that I had plenty of time to order a meal. Couldn 't quite put my finger on it but I felt I was definitely 'in the way '. I was surprised that a 'discretionary ' service charge had been added to the bill as I was unaware that there would be, especially as there was also a prompt for a gratuity.

Towards the end of our meal, we were all laughing so much that if we didn't, we would have been very sad! Somewhere along the way, my husband and I ended up sharing our meals - I had some of his, and he had some of mine. We had to pass our plates back and forth to piece together a complete meal. Unfortunately, my main course was missing the correct sauce and I was offered HP sauce from a bottle instead. The desserts were not enjoyable at all. We only had our drink order taken once and the entire experience was slow, even though there were only a few other diners in the restaurant.

The staff at this restaurant were friendly, but I found the drinks to be overpriced. A small glass of orange juice cost me £2.05. When I arrived for breakfast, there was no one to greet me at first, so I had to walk in and find a seat on my own. Three ladies eventually appeared to assist me. However, the restaurant was very clean and well-maintained. The staff were attentive and efficient.
