The service is usually great here, but our server was so slow we had to ask for water and wine refills from other servers. Really frustrating when spending hundreds of dollars on dinner View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Rel House American:
I was here a few times and had very good food and service. every restaurant has its bad day. the steak salad we had before was really good, was joined with almost all gristle, it was a shame because the meat tasted good, but could not chew. at our last visit, the steak was perfect. be careful to see him next time. Really enjoyed it, but were surprised at our bill having consumed no alcohol. We were charged $6 a piece for club soda with bitters, made for an extravagant night out.
This place is so loud, it's almost impossible to have a conversation when it's packed. Our main courses came 45 50 minutes late despite requests to server. My salmon was undercooked and cold and since we were headed to a show at The Cabot there wasn't time to send it back to be cooked and reheated again. This also happened on New Year's Eve when several at my table had to either send main courses back completely or wait for it to be reheated. Food and menu has unfortunately changed at this venue which is too bad and sad for Beverly. Cocktails and wines are superb but the meals are late and lackluster now.
Visited prior to a show at the Cabot. Their web site recommended allowing 2 hours to dine if you are going to a show. I agree. We arrived just before 5 PM and got our check at 6:45. Thankfully, the theater is a 2 minute walk away. Nice atmosphere. Service was great. Nice selection of whiskey and a very good mai tai. The poutine appetizer was yummy. Some of the best we have had. My companion had the prime rib special a nice 12 oz cut that he really enjoyed. It was a la carte so no sides came with it . I had the onion soup which was very good. Perfectly seasoned. We split the Bombe Alaska for dessert. It was okay. I was disappointed there were no chocolate options on the dessert menu. We will definitely return if we are ever in the area.
A 40 plus sirion was 2 tough ! 2 Nd time I got it and didn’t enjoy it !!! ...bartender is the best mixing drinks and has a great memory and knew what I drank last time there ! I will go there again
Love that there were NO televisions !! Great shepherds pie and nice wines too
