Description

A recent review of a restaurant in Franconia has left patrons with mixed feelings about their dining experiences. One review indicated that the food was subpar, with issues such as a lack of freshness in the lobster and inedible noodle bowl and bean cake. On the flip side, another diner noted that the food was excellent, particularly highlighting a delicious wild mushroom soup and vegetable quiche. The atmosphere of the restaurant was praised by multiple patrons, with mentions of a cozy and inviting space, great ambience, and accommodating staff. Despite some inconsistencies in service, such as providing an alcoholic drink to a pregnant diner, overall, the restaurant seemed to leave a positive impression on most visitors, with many expressing plans to return for another meal. The average price per person ranged from $30 to $100.

We were so amazed by our experience at the Cold Mountain Cafe. The gourmet home cooked meal was delicious! I had the Turkey Shakshuka which was so good and my wife had their pasta with local wild mushrooms. The owner and staff were warm and endearing. Also they are only open 3 days a week when other restaurants are closed.

Easily overlooked, smaller restaurant on a busy street but what a find! Quiet and cozy, with friendly, efficient service, and wonderful, local and seasonal food and drinks. A hot summer day outside? Daily special was a watermellon margarita and cold gazpacho soup! I could go on and on about the menu, but you're better off looking at it yourself and ordering up a variety. If I am ever within an hour of this place I will be back!

A lovely little cafe where friendly folks delight you with mussels or Moroccan, Guinness or a Cosmopolitan, mint pea soup or… well on it goes. We’ve been perhaps 8 times in as many years, and Cold Mountain is an easy choice for a memorable evening.

We have just had the MOST lovely birthday dinner here while staying at the Mount Washington Resort down the road. Every aspect of this cafe was a true delight. From the ambiance to the staff to the food and beverage offerings to the great music playing and the cool art on display-we loved every minute of our visit! We were overjoyed that we FINALLY “discovered” this gem that we had somehow missed in the 10 years we have spent vacationing in the area. A mistake we will not make again. I have a feeling we will now be planning our return visits around their opening hours! Keep up the excellence ladies, you made us all so happy with your smiles and pure passion for what you are doing.

What a gem! This wonderful café on the charming Main Street of Bethlehem, NH won our hearts not only with it's amazing menu offerings like smoked duck and mushroom magic- yes it was magic! But also with the smiles, kindness and genuine joy that you could see on all the staff members faces. We had the harissa carrots, duck breast, mushroom magic, burrata with a dreamy pea mint puree, chicken and biscuits and the PERFECTLY cooked bistro steak. Do not pass up your chance for a truly comforting to the soul dinning experience if you are in the area. We drove over from the nearby Mount Washington Resort and are so very very glad we did. Until next time, Cold Mountain Café, keep doing what you're doing, and we will keep dreaming of our return!
